“Fabulous place!”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

We absolutely loved our stay at Alpine Village, it's only 2 minutes outside the town and there is also a walking/bike track all the way. The cottages and wood cabins were delightful, I especially loved having a full kitchen. The staff we encountered were really friendly and we didn't have any problems with service or amenities. The grounds are just beautiful, I'd much rather stay in this type of wilderness setting than right in town (even though Jasper is a lovely town!). Just across the road in front of Reception is the Athabasca River and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. We didn't see them unfortunately, but apparently the night we were there a Grizzly and her two cubs made an appearance on the River bank! Highly recommended and I hope I return to Jasper one day ... our visit was way too short!

Room Tip: Go for the wood cabins!

When a Welsh man travels to Canada for the first time, what best to book but a log cabin to offer him a true Canadian experience? :-) Our stay at the Alpine Village was exceptional and one that we'll remember forever. When we first pulled to the office, we noticed how well kept the grounds were, as well as the Adirondak chairs set up by the river. The person at the reception was very friendly and explained us the amenities, which included buying a bag of chopped wood for our fire place ($5, very cheap).
Our one-bedroom cabin was very cleaned and cozy. It was chilly inside though and after bringing the heat up and starting a fire, we were warm in a few minutes.
The person taking care of room service was very courteous as well and took the time to chat with us for a while. We would definitely book at the Alpine Village again.

We stayed here two nights in May and fell in love with it! The staff was so friendly, the cabins were beautiful and we enjoyed sitting in the adirondack chairs by the river and watching the water go by. It was so peaceful.

When we stayed at Alpine for a few days in one of the smaller cabins. All amenities were included, the cabin was clean, spacious yet cozy, and beautiful. On the few cold rainy days we had, we enjoyed the fireplace. On the warm days we sat outside and enjoyed the stunning views. There were never issues such as noise, small parking, etc etc which you often have with other hotels. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The price is slightly higher and you are a few minutes out of town, but it is well worth it.

We stayed at Alpine Village for 6 nights. The first part of the week we stayed in one of the newer executive cabins. It is gorgeous!!!! Then the last of the week, we moved into a smaller, older quaint cabin...and oddly enough we loved it even more! It was cozy and sweet and old fashioned, with an old gas stove...fireplace and bed right in front of the fireplace. Bathroom was updated, even had a heated tile floor!!! Marvelous for those chilly morning showers. We were there last week (June 9-15) and the weather was perfect. Cool enough for a light jacket...warm enough to go white water rafting (with a wet suit). Perfect for hiking and walking the trails.

Alpine Village does a marvelous job of keeping things pretty and clean. We hung out in the hot tub the last two nights...wishing we had thought of it earlier in the week. Gorgeous outdoors. Lots of black bear sightings and even saw a female Grizz with her two cubs.

Highly recommend not just Jasper as a whole, but Alpine Village specifically. Quiet, beautiful, well kept and wonderful staff.

Room Tip: We didn't have a terrible restaurant experience...I couldn't unclick the dot. There is no re...

Hard to add much to previous reviews. We enjoyed everything about the Alpine Village. It's just outside of Jasper, so easy access to town but feels like you've gotten away a bit. Woke up our first morning to about 10 elk grazing through, which was cool to see. Staff was very nice and helpful. Chairs along the river to sit and relax. Would definitely recommend - it's #1 ranking is well deserved.

We really enjoyed our stay here, although we wouldn't stay during high season due to cost, and no need for a fireplace. Other less costly cabins are around which we have enjoyed many time. But we went during off season and really enjoyed this place. Our cabin was # 21 and closest to the road. It was great, and we could see the river and Rafter's floating down right from our living room window. This cabin was a one bedroom deluxe: large bedroom, fairly large bathroom, full kitchen and eating area and a nice size living room with fireplace. Large outside deck. Walk across the street to some chairs by the river. When we arrived we went inside to check everything out, then went back to our truck to unload when I looked to my left and there was a Bear walking beside me. He kept going, eating stuff off the grass. So cool. Wood for the fireplace is $5 a bag at the office or you can go and chop your own out back, just a little walk. Wood was not great for burning and was hard to keep going though. Would definitely go back though, off season. #21 is right by the road, really nice but I wonder how noisy it would be during peak season.

Room Tip: Cabin #21 is closest to the road and river.
