“Disappointed”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

There was hair in the bathtub and the bathroom walls were dirty. Bit of a turn off. We were there 2 days and the only thing they did to our room was empty the garbage. Rooms are older and furniture needs to be replaced for what the hotel charges.

It is a basic hotel but the rates made it a lot more affordable than some other accommodations in Jasper...it is a very expensive little town! The room was a bit dark but the beds were comfortable and clean. Jasper itself is tiny so although the Maligne lodge wasn't right in the middle of the shops and restaurants it was within walking distance to everything you need. The staff were very helpful when we needed to add another night to our reservation, despite their being full. I would stay here again.

I stayed two nights and my bill came to $435.That price includes one beakfast for 2@$24.
The restaurant we ate in at the hotel was ok.The service was Great there. The servers were very pleasant and friendly, one lady even gave my 4 year old daughter a balloon, made her day.
The hotel was just ok.I had worse and I've had better too.

We arrived in Jasper after travelling through British Columbia. We were told Jasper was expensive, so we were delighted to find the room for 3 nights for $99 per night (in May'14). We were rather expecting the room to disappoint - but all was just fine - dated yes, but it had a comfortable bed, good fridge, the hairdryer, a TV, wireless internet, very clean too! Staff were polite and helpful and we were on the quiet end of the main street....
Bonus for my partner were the trains that travel through Jasper day and night - he loved them!

Hotel is at the top end of town, not much around it. We were first allocated a room within the swimming pool complex it was hot and humid so we asked for a change. The next room was on the second floor on the back road of the complex, I think it was a bonus as it was quite, however the floorboards creaked, did not bother us but it must have been loud for the the residents below.
A basic tired hotel but clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and the beds were comfortable, overall value for money in the high priced Jasper where nothing is cheap.

Room Tip: Second floor

This is an older hotel/motel on the west end of the main drag of Jasper.

Pros: easy to find, relatively cheap rate for Jasper. OK for a very basic overnight if you're not too fussy about the dated decor and amenities.

Cons: breakfast can be had cheaper (and better) elsewhere (try LouLou's on Patricia Street), room is very dark, fridge is tiny, and it's several blocks away from the main part of town, shopping, restaurants, etc.

We stayed here for 2 nights on the May long weekend. The plus sides were: one of the cheaper rates in town, good location (walking distance to most downtown shops and restaurants), good bedding, and a clean functioning bathroom. The negative siders were: if you are on the main street side you will get some train and traffic noise at night, so pack some ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. While the TV itself was a newer flat screen, the cable itself and the wall jack were falling apart, so the screen was off and on fuzzy. The electrical plugs in the room were all so loose and worn out that the lamp plugs, or your cell phone charger plugs would practically fall out of the socket. I will give the front desk some credit, as they genuinely thanked me for letting them know of these issues upon check out. Otherwise, I did not go to the breakfast buffet so I'm not sure of the quality, but it's at least a nice option if you don't feel like going out for some food.

Overall, if you are just looking for a cheaper basic place to stay, it will suffice, but don't expect any type of luxury or any more than a room to sleep in.
