Very disappointed with the Chateau Jasper. Rooms are not worth the £160 a night price tag! It is more like a travel lodge. Air conditioning in the room was ineffective, sheets did not appear fresh and were crumpled and towels thin and poor quality. Room overlooked the car park. Would not stay here again after being spoilt at the Rimrock in Banff for the same nightly rate. No comparison!

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere!

We'll placed, few minutes to town, in a peaceful residential area. Reception friendly and helpful. Hotel looks clean and we'll maintained. Good sized rooms, comfy bed. Sensible bathroom with two sinks, ideal for toilet hoggers. All necessaries provided. Air cond. good breakfast at reasonable price. Felt comfortable and at ease, could stay here again.

I choose this hotel for 2 reasons: I was travelling with someone who used a walker and I wanted an elevator. Secondly, it was one of the more reasonably priced hotels in the area, comparatively speaking.

When we arrived there we found out the elevator was not working and we would have to use the stairs for our 2 night stay. I was not impressed.

The room itself was very average and not what I expected for the exorbitant price we paid. I guess you just have to 'suck it up' during the 'high season'? It was hot outside and the air conditioning didn't cool me down enough even though we kept it running for 2 days. The towels were quite cheap.

On the positive side, it was nice to have a small fridge and a separate sink outside the toilet area. The beds were satisfactory but the pillows were ho hum. The restaurant was nice but very pricey. Front desk staff were busy but good.

Check in was not particularly good or friendly. Whilst I checked in, my husband waited in the car as there were several cars parked up by the hotel entrance and it was not easy to leave the car unattended. I am unsure as to whether my experience was because I was checking in alone. The 2 people ahead of me for checking in were greeted in a very friendly way and in a loud voice the young male receptionist informed them that they would be getting free upgraded rooms and assured them of how nice the rooms were. They were informed of all the hotel facilities. However, when it was my turn, I was just issued with the key and informed where the elevator was located, with hardly a smile. Not a good start. As I waited for the elevator, I overheard other guests receiving an informative, friendly welcome. The room was ok but the bathroom was in need of redecoration. The air conditioning unit was totally ineffective, operating only intermittently. Wifi was unreliable and, more often than not, we were unable to connect over the 2 days of our stay. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the centre of Jasper. The best part of the stay was the continental breakfast in the restaurant for $9.

Room Tip: Perhaps you will be lucky enough for a free upgraded room!

Hotel is basic but clean. Location is not bad a short walk to the town. Has a nice pool and hot tub area that is well maintained.

Overall quite pricey for what you get but that's high season in Jasper

We booked a standard room with 2 beds as I was travelling with my father and son.
There was enough room for the 3 of us and we slept great. The air conditioning was great as we were luck and it was hot and sunny.
There was also a small fridge in the room which is very convenient when travelling with a hungry toddler.
An additional plus: free wifi and parking!
The hair dryer was broke, but maintenance took only 5 minutes to come up and repair it - great job!
The breakfast was standard fair, but you cannot beat the price ($15 for full breakfast and $10 for continental). And kids under 3 eat free!
Unfortunately we did not have time to visit the pool, but it was great to know it was there in case the weather didn`t cooperate.
All in all it was a very pleasant stay.
