I got to the hotel after a long day's travelling from Banff. I found that I had been given a free upgrade to a suite, which was huge and very pleasant. Supper in the restaurant was not up to the same standard and a bit of a downer. I ordered a burger, which sounded good on the menu, but came in a herbal bun and without half the accessories on the menu...but it did have mustard, which was not on the menu and to which I am allergic. They replaced it without question. It was pretty tasteless, except for the weird bun. Breakfast was Canadian average, with limited choice of hot items.

Room Tip: Try and get an upgrade to a suite!

We stayed here for three nights at the start of August. There was plenty of parking and check in was smooth. We had been upgraded to suite which was very spacious. The room was very clean and smelt clean and fresh. The air con was a little noisy though and we could hear the lift.
We ate in the restaurant twice. The food was very good. Breakfast was ok but staff were slow in replacing food items when they had run out. I overheard one gust requesting milk for his child's cereals three times. On one occasion the waitress supplied him with a handful of sachets used for coffee. He eventually asked one of the kitchen staff himself.
Good location and would stay again.

Bad start as on arrival after 5 hours driving and feelin very tired, we were told that the hotel had let our room to someone else as they had overbooked (even though we'd booked in February!) and we were relocated down the road to a room in a half built hotel with absolutely no facilities. Having spent the night there, (room very nice but smelt very strongly of new paint) we were moved back for our second night to chateau jasper. We were generously compensated however and enjoyed the rest our stay. Hotel facilities excellent, beautiful pool area and first class breakfast. Just sorry it didn't start well, but can thoroughly recommend hotel.

We stayed here for an evening at the end of our Rocky Mountaineer Railway trip. A 15 minute brisk walk from the town centre. The room was huge with two queen size doubles and very clean. Staff were helpful.

We stayed here two nights in July 2014. We had a nice, large, clean room with comfortable beds. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the downtown area. Parking is available around the hotel and in the garage.

The Chateau Jasper is a nice hotel. Although when we arrived we asked for quite room and having been given room next to lift, drinks machine and car park managed to get it changed.

The room was very good and very clean. Staff were very helpful. A little walk (15 mins) to town but nicely located overall.

Hotel located 20 minutes easy level walk from the outside of town. Kerb side the structure looks dated with garden areas untidily strewn with loose sprinkler hoses. Pleasant enough greeting at reception only to be told the front elevator wasn't working and that we needed to haul our luggage up stairs to reach a rear elevator which in tandem with the front one also was out of order on the next day. Our room was large, generally drab with dated furniture, fixtures and fittings. The a/c just coped with 30C heat. Modern wide screen TV and fast free wifi though. The pool area and gym is undercover and from a previous era.
In a nutshell, in its day, ie: the 70's, this would have been a great place to stay. In the 21st century it's OK but sooner rather than later they are going to have to invest in a serous upgrade
