This hotel features beautiful views, a wonderful lake nearby, courteous staff (and props to every one of them that we encountered), and nice looking cabins. It is a short drive from Jasper, has reasonable equipment rentals for skating, and a very fancy restaurant right on site. This is a very nice resort, and a perfect getaway from the city. We have enjoyed our stay, and consider it above average. This is a great place to go as a group to get away from it all.

However, the resort's little problems are many. The shower is exceedingly difficult to control. The hot tub should be much warmer. The lock on the door is so stiff that you can barely get your card in. Our alarm clock had been left on from the last guests, so we were woken up earlier than we wanted. The continential breakfast vouchers get you a side order for breakfast (namely, toast, a fruit cup, tea/coffee, and yogurt) and nothing more, so you end up purchasing a whole breakfast and then getting your sides free. The registration sign is so small that if you're coming in at night, you need an owl for a co-pilot to find the front desk (if anyone wants to know, follow the much larger "gift shop" sign).

Most of these are issues that I would never bring up independently. Even if one or two of these happened in a stay, they are not worth noting. But here it just seems like there's a little thing wrong here and there, all of which should be easily corrected by the new management. I feel like this place should have a 3.5 star rating - definitely above average, but just not in that "highly able to recommend" fourth star category, because something will probably be an issue to everybody. I would come again in a few years to see if these hiccups have been corrected, but I'm fairly sure that there's other places in town that are not making these same small mistakes.

The rooms were very clean, well appointed and comfortable. Our room had an updated bathroom. The hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly. The restaurant...which I will review separately was very good.
The hotel has amazing views and is just a few minutes out of town, but is not at all an inconvenience. Will certainly come back again.

My husband and I recently stayed here for one night for my husband's work. We arrived on Thursday night at 9:00 at night and after a long drive, were looking forward to a late dinner at the restaurant. It was very disappointing to find that the restaurant had just closed, that is the only issue I had with our stay. The king room was nice with a gas fireplace and large flat screen tv; the bathroom was spacious; and we had a lovely view of the lake from the patio in the morning. The resort is set in a beautiful location away from the town of Jasper so it was absolutely peaceful and relaxing. We would have loved to stay longer but could not at that time. We definitely hope to return to Pyramid Lake Resort.

Room Tip: Keep in mind that the resort is a few kms up from Jasper townsite in case you need to have food or any special supplies for you or your family.

I recommend this hotel, if you doon't mind being slightly out of town. the seclusion gave us a remote romantic vibe.
We have stayed at JPL, and find it over priced. Yes JPL has a nice pool, but other than that, we found Pyramid Lake Resort eqaully charming. The hot tub at Pyramid Lake Resort is nice and hot. A bit wierd getting in and out of it though. You have to ask the front desk to let you in.
Our pyramid room was nice with a fireplace and balcony. It had a cozy vibe. We stayed in room 29 and then 2 more nights in 21, becuase we had great temperatures and were having fun.
We skiied at Marmot, we enjoyed a sliegh ride at Pyramid Lake, we skated the Pyramid Lake oval, and we even went toboganning nearby as well!
the Pines restaurant was wonderful - the food was excellent everytime. The wine list was great, not extensive, but all the right wines. The prices were on average with what I would have paid in town, and certainly lower than JPL.
Thank you Michael for the great service!
I recommend this resort for those who prefer a more laid back approach, and for romatic getaways. :)

Room Tip: If you have a bunch of luggage, ask for a room that doesnt require stairs to access.

Hotel is a few km out of Jasper town, which makes it less convenient for people without own transportation. Surroundings are great though; nice views and in the wintertime you can skate on the lake before the hotel. Rooms do have thin walls, as mentioned earlier by others and the bathroom has a peculiar smell. It could be the highly chlorinated water though. We were there in the holiday season, making the price very high for the kind of accommodation it is. The sheets were not changed once in the 4 days we were there and for a few dollars more per night a room in the fairmont was also available. However, we did enjoy the separate seating arrangement in the room with gas fire place. Though not everything is in the room, they are happy to bring it to you when requested (i.e. water kettle for making tea).
