Stayed 2 nights, great room overlooking Lake.Room was big enough with sitting area.Clean nice room with balcony.Very pleasent staff,in office and restaurant.Lovely breakfast. We were going to try restaurant and the menu looked great but they didn't do anything a bit lighter and we weren't hungery enough, so went into Jasper to Earls, which was very nice.Had a fantastic walk up and around the resort recommened by the check desk. The only little niggle, when we woke first morning there was someone outside on our bit of balcony rubbing down the wooden balcony ,not a problem accept when we returned from our 3.5 hour walk and fancied just sitting on our balcony and relaxing they were varnishing up our stairs and right outside our room , so that put paid to that idea.Shame as it was glorious. We were the only ones on our section and it wouldn't have taken much common sense to start at the other end and it wouldn't have been a problem for us.I realise this needed doing but as I said ,just start at the other end. That aside would definately stay there again.
The reason we chose this hotel was that we had stayed at 2 others on this holiday and knew the sort of standard we could expect.

This is a lodge type cabin motel location overlooking a lake in a forested area at the end of a winding road. Nice Restaurant with outdoor deck overlooking Pyramid lake. It is a few miles from downtown Jasper. Boat and canoe rentals available.

Heading to Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada - earlier this week i got a chance to discover the Coast Pyramid Lake Resort a few kilometers outside the Jasper townsite and I was blown away with the location. Chalets nesstled on a slopeside overlooking a gem of a lake. Peaceful, romantic, you can organize a bike ride, hop in a canoe or rowboat - great fun - I will be back. The dining was excellent - be sure to try the stuffed french toast.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Coast Pyramid property. We had a nice room with a king bed and fireplace. The room also included a fridge. The shampoo and bath items are in bulk containers. I like that "green" approach. The front desk staff is extremely friendly. The pier is a lovely place to sit in the evening. We slept well each night. It's pricey but worth the view. It is just a few minutes drive in to town. We had the luxury of a quiet wooded setting in the mountains.

It was late when we arrived in Jasper, and we had discovered that most of the hotels in town were already fully booked. Remembering the beautiful location near the fully-booked Patricia Lake Bungalows, we decided to check the Coast Pyramid Lake Resort -- and they had rooms still available, so we booked one. With taxes and fees, it cost around two hundred and eighty dollars.

The room we stayed in had two queen beds, one of which was a dilapidated, squeaky and totally uneven sofabed that barely fit in the very small room. My husband graciously offered to sleep on it, saving the other bed for me to share with our daughter. Our bed was firm but comfortable, although I would not recommend that anyone sleep on a sofabed at this resort. My husband had a terrible sleep, although that was definitely not the worst of our stay.

The room was filthy. FILTHY. In addition to stinky water left in the icebox (not emptied after whichever guests had used it last), the housekeeping staff had failed to remove a used shower cap from the back of the bathroom door and there were stains on the carpet. And the state of the bathroom can be summed up in one word: disgusting. I will attach photos of the mildew and dirty grout so that nothing is left to the imagination.

An old (circa 1973) shower head in the bathroom sprayed everywhere, the women at the front desk made fun of my husbands last name (before telling him he was the perfect man, for staying on the sofabed...awkward!), I woke up to a conversation about lake sharks that two employees were having in their golf carts outside -- *sigh*.

Pyramid Lake itself is beautiful and this hotel boasts a great view of it (and of Pyramid Mountain) and offers a feeling of moderate seclusion, but everyone planning a stay in Jasper should keep the following in mind:

1.) Jasper is in the mountains. Mountain views are available almost everywhere.
2.) There are plenty of places to stay off the beaten path. With better value. Do research!
3.) Book early. For a clean and quiet stay with equal views (only three minutes from the Coast Pyramid Lake) stay at Patricia Lake Bungalows. Some of the rooms there are a little outdated as well, but are cleaner and the staff are much more socially appropriate.

Until this hotel undergoes massive renovations, I will not recommend that anyone stays here. And as long as travelers are willing to pay nearly three hundred dollars per night for the rooms they have, I doubt they feel they need to.

We had the Whistler suite, upstairs unit #55. Great location for the view and had a blast using the bike, the kayaks, etc. Our teenager loved it here. The cost was reasonable for the rentals. Bed was comfortable. I do have to say this place does need rehab. It's getting a bit rough around the edges. Owners should make plans to renovate because the location is drop dead gorgeous. The jacuzzi is in poor shape. But we would probably stay again. Staff was helpful and interested in us.

Small room (Cavell room), iced fridge, tiny outdated bathroom, sofa bed had foot higher than head, each family member maybe got 3-4 hours sleep only. Very stuffy; paper thin walls and ceiling - heard everything from neighbours which added to the uncomfortable beds for no rest.
