We took 2 different tours with Joe while we were in Jasper. He really knows his stuff and has real passion for where he lives and the wildlife he shares it with. He is very funny too - you learn a lot from him because he tells it in such a fun way. He really knows where the wildlife hang out and is determined to show you as much as he possibly can. We whizzed all over the place - it felt like a real adventure. He was so sure that there was a male elk in some woods so he returned twice to see if we could see him. We were so lucky that on our second visit we saw 2 male elks rutting. It was very exciting and a bit scary! When the fight was over he managed to find the loser feeling very sorry for himself. I am sure that last thing that poor elk needed was a minibus of tourists taking pictures of him in his humiliation! I think Joe was as excited as we were and he has seen it all before! We also took the Maligne Lake tour with him. We felt we really got to know so much about Jasper that we would have missed out on if we toured around ourselves. It was the highlight of our Canadian holiday
