“expensive, mediocre jasper hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2013

was camping, rain wouldn't stop so we needed a hotel. the town was very busy due to the jasper rodeo in town. only vacancy we found was at the best western. it was very expensive ($250 per night) and just ok. we got the impression that they knew there was little options and were milking us for all they could. another annoyance was that we've had hotels in jasper comp us a breakfast with each night and we didn't even get that here. +$500 for 2 nights and they wouldn't even throw in a few eggs. not impressed. the room itself was clean and fine and everything. the hide-a-bed was really badly uncomfortable. nothing special.

Room Tip: go elsewhere. it's too expensive here.

Great hotel and within easy walking access to Jasper town .The staff were very helpful polite and friendly.Rooms were very good and very clean and the breakfast which was included in the room rate was very good with a good selection on offer. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely stay there again.

The minute we walked into our room the power went out. I had read that it happens often. The people in the room next door said it was the second time that day. It was out in that part of town, not just our hotel. It was out for over an hour. Not much to do in the dark. Pool and resteraunt closed. Because of this we missed the "happy hour" prices at their resteraunt called "The Inn". They didn't honor them when the power came on. Dinner was good though. Lots of selections.

Room doors are all to the outdoors. No elevators to second floor if that bothers you. No air conditioning. Our room had 3 twin beds in the upper loft area and a queen bed downstairs in its own room with a door. Upstairs had a fan but was really hot. Tv upstairs and down, found volumes to clash. Was hard to hear downstairs tv. Balcony was a plus. 2 chairs out there. Had to step over the indoor heat register to get out there. Maybe 9-12 inches. Not ideal. The screen door doesn't lock so I felt the need to shut the glass door before bed so I could lock it. Wanted to let in the cool night air but felt for security reasons the need to close it.

No free breakfast. Can pay for breakfast at The Inn. We did. They have 3 hot items they rotate along with cold items. It was scrambled eggs, bacon, and pancakes the day we ate there. It was good. I think it was $9.95 for adult and $6.95 for kids. It included juice and coffee. It was good.

We would stay here again.

This hotel is in bad need of renovations and upgrade the bathroom is way too small. Fridge did not work had to be replaced which took about 2 hours. Very poor value and would not stay there again. The restaurant has very good food. The pool area is very ncie.

We spent three nights here and were very happy with the room and service. On the odd time it was hard to get a park near our room as the place seemed to be full all the time which is always a good sign but always found somewhere, Ate in the restaurant one evening and found the meal lovely. It was nice that there was a complimentary computer and internet in the foyer which we used late each night. there was a indoor pool which we never used but it was getting plenty of use.
The place is well situated towards the edge of town but still an easy walk into everything. No problems to recommend if staying in Jasper

After looking at all the trip advisor reviews we opted to stay at this hotel for our holiday in the beautiful Jasper area. Compared to Banff the choices of quality accomodation seem to be limited and pricey. The trip advisor reviews I read about this Hotel before departing were very accurate particularly the comments that mention the hotel requires a facelift as the carpets and fittings are starting to look tired and worn, it does have that Best Western feel to it.
We stayed in a loft style apartment at the back of the complex which was a reasonable size, the bed in the loft was comfortable and the kitchen and living area had everything you needed.
The lack of air conditioning did not present any problems for us but as a previous writer mentioned we would have kept the sliding door to the balcony open if it was a security type flywire door which would have assisted ventiliation. The WIFI was OK but it dropped out very quickly and required you to re log on frequently which was a little annoying. Reception was friendly and it was an easy 20 minute walk into Jasper. In Banff many hotels offer free bikes for their guests and it would be great if this hotel did the same as they were close to great bike paths and it would be very handy for going to the Jasper township.
The indoor pool and sauna area were well maintained and very nice after long days walking in the park. The highlight for us was the restaurant at the hotel, the food was exellent and very reasonably priced for the 2 quality meals we had there. We also had breakfast for around $10 each morning which we thought was was also good value for money.

We enjoyed our stay here in Jasper. Our room did show its age. The carpet was lifting. Having said that the staff was very helpful and the room was clean. We had a lovely view from our deck. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant and it was delicious.
