“Roomy!”
Reviewed 14 August 2014

Stayed for two nights in a 1 QN+ 3 single beds with sofabed. Sufficient room for four adults and two kids.
We were kinda down on our luck as it was the two hottest days of summer in Jasper (close to 32C / 90F). The (not-)fresh mountain air could not replace good ol' air conditionning, which we knew the hotel did not have.
That made for some pretty warm rooms all the way to early morning. They did supply two electrical fans, which were somewhat of a relief.
The bathroom is kind of smallish for that big of a room.
The pool/spa/sauna/humid sauna were great.
We did not eat on location, but you do have to walk outside to reach both the restaurant and pool.

Booked 3 nights at the BW Jasper Inn and got a room in the basement. The room was fairly big and was expecting it to be hot and stuffy but the room was airy and cool. The fan in the room was good enough. Bonus was the buffet breakfast at $9.95. Had quite a variety of hot and cold foods.

The hotel was great.....staff was great.....beds and pillows were very comfortable and the place was very clean!! No air conditioning, but they did supply a fan that was needed just to keep the air moving. We were up and gone very early in the morning, so I can't comment on the restaurant.

Lovely hotel, lots of rooms with private balconies looking over well kept gardens. Great restaurant on site with a varied menu. Close to town 5 minute walk away, the town is lovely too. Staff helpful, you can get your beers and wine delivered free to your room by a local business. On site pool and sun deck. A very relaxing 3 night stay.

Room Tip: Ask when booking for best room available.

We very much enjoyed our well appointed room overlooking a small garden. Since there is no air conditioning, we had the patio door open to the balcony, which allowed noise from the nearby outdoor restaurant to infiltrate the room. This was only a minor annoyance however, since the restaurant closed at 10 PM. The food in the Inn Restaurant was very good too. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed for 2 nights during late June 2014. We had arrived on the VIA's "The Canadian" from Vancouver and were looking forward to spreading out and relaxing after a night on-board the train. The hotel is a good location about 5-10 minutes walk from the town centre of Jasper. Check-In was quick and easy and we were soon given the key to our room. We were given a loft suite which was one floor up. There is no lift and while this was not an issue for us it might cause some problems with some people getting heavy luggage to the room. The room was great and very spacious. There was a bedroom downstairs with a double bed and then up stairs there was the loft room complete with three single beds, so plenty of space and privacy. Downstairs there is also the bathroom (complete with lots of bath products), living area and kitchen. The room was very clean and while perhaps slightly dated compared to some places the space and cleanliness more than made up for this. The kitchen was very well equipped although we never even used it as we were too busy exploring Jasper. We also had a great balcony at the front of the room which overlooked the beautiful mountains. Across the car park there is an indoor pool, Jacuzzi and Steam Room. The facilities were again very clean and there was also a secure locker room. Breakfast was great. 10 CAD for a breakfast buffet which included a choice of hot and cold food and was well worth the price. The best value breakfast we experienced in over 2 weeks of travelling through Canada staying in 7 different hotels. We also ate in the restaurant one evening and again found it be very good value and tasty food with a good choice on the menu. The staff were friendly and attentive. The staff on reception were very helpful and made some calls to our tour operators to check pick-ups without hesitation and always with a smile. Overall a great hotel, spacious rooms and friendly staff.

We picked the Best Western after being unable to secure a cottage in the Jasper area (most outrages have minimum stay requirements during peak season). We went with Best Western as we have had good experiences at other hotels in their chain.

It turned out picking an in town hotel vs out of town cottage was nice as we could easily walk a few blocks from our hotel to the Jasper downtown area shops and restaurants.

The hotel itself looks very nice from the exterior and had ample parking, but you can tell overall this is an older facility. Our room was
nice and met our needs, but you could tell it was time for renos/upgrades (worn out cupboards, dirty tiles/grout, older bathroom sink/counter, tough to operate sliding door, etc). Don't get me wrong, everything worked fine, it was just older and well used.

The front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly. The check in process was quite easy, but the hotel would benefit from express checkout. Check out took much too long.

Another thing to note is that the wifi did not work very well at all. It was quite slow and would cut out frequently.

After reading other peoples reviews I feel that I have to state that if you expect to visit Jasper and pay a reasonable price for a hotel and get a hotel like what you'd get in an urban centre, then you are mistaken. Many facilities in Jasper are older and rustic and the market itself in Jasper is just simply expensive. Restaurants are expensive, tours are expensive, groceries are expensive, gas is expensive, souvenirs are expensive, etc. So I am sure that if you are willing to pay for it, you could find a high end facility to stay at.

The pool and hot tub area were clean and well sized. The kids enjoyed themselves at the pool.

We did not try the on site restaurant because we opted for higher ranked restaurants on Trip Advisor.

All in all an okay visit. We had a place to rest and sleep in between touring the wonderful Jasper area.
