“A good base when visiting Jasper”
Reviewed 11 October 2010

This is a motel style Best Western with comfortable, spacious rooms. It is quite pricey but then accomodation in Jasper is expensive. We had a downstairs room that was clean and well appointed. The hotel was generally quiet. The receptionist was very helpful in sorting our accomodation and giving information about the area. The swimming pool was clean and adequate. The hotel is within walking distance of the restaurants and shops in Jasper.

This was a nice middle of the road hotel with decent sized rooms and friendly service. My only complaint was that the room was stuffy. It was cool outside but inside the room it was a bit warm. There was a small refrigerator in the room, which was nice.

I was dreading our visit after these reviews. Jasper is expensive to stay in, so we went for a suite so we could get together our own breakfast. The rooms in the older motel part where we stayed are brown, but I imagine that when you come in from skiing you dont want a cream carpet....The living area is spacious and we had a nice view out the window. We were able to park right outside. Staff at reception and in the bar were friendly. The bedroom was small but the bed was very comfy. Bathroom is small but bright and easy to use; it's not the smallest I've seen - Fairmount Lake Louise wins that. There was room to spread out over the suite but would need to keep tidy. The pool area is pretty good too; space to go up and down if needed though the water felt cooler than some. The hot tub was lovely and the steam room and sauna good too. The changing rooms are basic but clean - no lockers with locks so leave all valuables in your room safe though there are cubby holes for your clothes. The pool towels are stacked up at poolside - plenty of them but their small size means you may need to use 3! It's not particularly cheap but none of the rooms in Jasper were when we made our booking.

We have stayed in lots of Best Western Hotels over the years and this would have to be the worse! It would also have to be one of the most over-priced places we have ever stayed in.
We were there on Canada Day and even though we are Aussies, we thought they might have done something special for breakfast. No such luck! Hate to totally knock a place, but we thought it was totally out-dated and overpriced and a total disappointment.

My wife and I stayed here 1 night while visiting Jasper National Park. The room was so hot and stuffy even with the windows open we had to call and ask for someone to come up and do something about the heat. He supposedly turned off the heat but we spent the next 5 hours sitting with the windows and the door open and the room still did not cool down. In addition the room was on the first floor and next to the kitchen, so we could hear the dishes being washed and anyone walking by could look in. It felt like being in a display window. To add insult to injury people would leave the bar and stand on the sidewalk and smoke. Finally at 2:00 AM I had to get up and ask them to move. The next morning when my wife complained about the room the staff acted like they didn’t care and could not be bothered. In my opinion this is well below the standards for Best Westerns. The room was clean but dark, even with the curtains open and very overpriced. Take my advice, sleep in your car rather than stay here.

Stayed here for 2 nights in July after reading reasonable reviews on Tripadvisor. Was quite expensive (although everything in Jasper seemed to be). We had a loft room for 2 adults and 2 kids. My overall impression is old, brown, dark and dreary. The bedding was from the 1970s I think. Housekeeping done on the second of our days was minimal. Staff were okay. Because it is an older style motel there was a walkway right outside the bedroom which was a bit noisy. While it is not the worst hotel in the world, I wouldn't stay here again.
