Our AMA guide suggested we try this Inn and we were so glad he did! It is on the edge of the town of Jasper so you'll have a walk a few blocks for shopping, but one of the perks is that you are more likely to have a quiet and uninterupted view of the mountains!

The rooms were clean, eco-friendly, and provided little extras (fridge, video-games, kettle, coffe-pot, etc) The beds were excellent, especially the comfy pillows! The housekeeping were always very friendly and did a great job...in fact everyone working at this Inn was very welcoming and helpful during our stay!

We were lucky to get a deal on the hotel which included breakfast...even if this deal is not being offered I would highly recommend going for the breakfast buffet. Every morning we had so much for breakfast we felt too full for lunch. The menu includes eggs, sausage, pancakes, breads, pastry, various fruits, cereal, juice, etc..)

Our favorite restaurant is also within the Inn (Hearthstone). It offers a variety of country cooking menu items at a fairly reasonable price (especially in expensive Jasper). The portions are huge, the staff excellent, and the decor is exactly what you're looking for in the Canadian Rockies. There is also a bar and another upscale restaurant avaliable on location .

The pool, hot tub, sauna, and workout room were all exactly what we were looking for. After a day of skiing, snowboarding, or hiking it is great to unwind in the hot tub! All this is centrally located within the Inn so it is very conveinent.

Some things that could have been better: The windows were so fogged up most of the time that it was hard to see the beautiful view we had (however, sitting outside on the balcony was wonderful, just a little chilly in the winter). The walls seemed sound-proof, but the doors were not (hearing everyone in the hall). The spa has a great reputation, however the costs were over-priced.

Overall I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of a romantic retreat or a family trip. We certainly enjoyed are stay and will choose the Sawridge Inn when we return to Jasper!

Check-In: Our room was available for check-in at 1:00 pm when we arrived and the reservation was accurate.
Room: Balcony room was clean and met our expectations.
Lounge: Enjoyed a glass of wine at the Lounge just off of the lobby. Cozy and clean, many patrons seemed to be enjoying the ambiance.
Hotel: Nice and rustic feeling, though could use some udating of the carpets. The open pool and hot tub leaves a chlorine odour throughout the hotel, although the room and bathrooms in the hotel had a nice smell
Walter's Dining Room: Had a lovely romantic meal, very nice ambiance and staff, although you can see/hear the swimmers in the pool. Food was not only delicious, but beautiful to look at. Also ordered desert for room-service later in the evening and it arrived very quickly.
Bill was prepared for us in the morning with no descrepencies.

We have stayed at this hotel before. The service here has always been excellent. The rooms are comfortable and the staff showed us a few rooms to ensure we were satisfied. The only thing that was of a shock is the high the prices of a room here. We stayed at a hotel in Banff the previous week, in a suite with fireplace, leather furniture, steam shower & it was almost 1/2 the price. Having said that we will probably stay at the Sawridge again when visiting Jasper because of the staff and service.

Check in was quick, friendly an efficient. Ample free parking (some guests park on the road so take care when coming out!) Lovely decor promoting a Rocky Mountain feel. We spent the Thanksgiving weekend there with our 7 year old daughter. Room had 2 wonderfully comfortable double beds and our balcony overlooked the mountains, breathtaking! Someone next door smoked on their balcony and our heating system seemed to drag the smell in but other than that the rooms are clean and have a fridge, TV, hairdryer etc. Awesome toiletries too!!!

This hotel is on the end of the main street. With our 7 year old, it took about 10-15 minutes to walk to the "hub" of Jasper town. With the scenery and ambiance of the place, this was fine but if there are visitors with mobility concerns, this may be a challenge. It is all sidewalk and flat. We had lovely lovely walks and saw Elks and squirrels along the way! Also, if you walk to the Astoria Hotel and have a skillet breakfast you feel better having walked some calories off, AWESOME FOOD!!

We did have the buffet breakfast at the Sawridge which was pleasant enough. Perhaps more hot choices would have made it better but honestly theres hot stuff, fruit, cereal, bread and pastries and it is good value. Service for breakfast was EXCELLENT!! Thank you. There's a Utopia Restuarant next door where we went for breakfast one morning, lovely service and good food too.

My daughter LOVED the pool. I felt bad for the people who had rooms or who were eating in the restaurant next to the pool. We ensured our daughter enjoyed the pool with respect to those people, unfortunately there were families who did not HOWEVER, pools are a source of enjoyment so you cannot blame kids having fun and laughing out loud! For adults there is advertised an outdoor sauna, unfortunately its under a roof with no mountain views, BUT its separate and tranquil.

Take a trip to Jasper Park Lodge grounds, about 4 minutes drive away! Beautiful. 30 minutes away are the beautiful Athabasca Falls... Mother nature at her best. I am scared of heights but went on the Jasper Tramway (10 mins drive) to the top of Mount Whistler, what a journey and what views.... look at the different colours of water down below and realize what you have just accomplished! You can climb a little up there too!

Miette Hot Springs, 30-40 minutes drive, my husband said we should have visited on our way into Jasper to relax into our vacation. There are 4 pools, 2 x 10 degrees 1 x 20 degrees and 1 main pool of about 38 degrees. Naturally heated by mother nature / sulphur. Being outside, in heated naturally water - among the beautiful mountains - oh my goodness!!

I moved to Canada (Edmonton Alberta) from England 5 years ago and still love to discover this beautiful country.

Hotel is recommended, clean and a great base for your Rocky adventure!

We enjoyed 2 days at Jasper as part of our driving holiday across the Canadian Rockies. Jasper is a great place for a couple of days with lots of local excursions, plenty of local restraunts and bars.
Hotel is fairly basic but is clean and with good sized rooms. Free coffee in lobby at breakfast time. Good sized swimming pool adjacent to dining room. Comfy bar but there is a lack of a sitting area to relax in after drinks/meals. Ample free parking outside on hotel car park.
Our room had a balcony at the front of the hotel with mountain views and over the railway tracks, with quite a few trains for any enthusiasts!
The Hotel is on the very edge of town, which means its quite a walk into the centre (20 mins) but its flat!

Thank you for your review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay with us during your driving vacation. If you desire a sitting area outside of our restuarant or lounges, we do have a couple of seating areas on the main and lower lobby offering couches and ottomans to put your feet up after a long day. We also offer patio tables and chairs on our front patio to enjoy the spectacular moutain views (and those trains when they happen to pass!)

Actually the hotel is very nice with wide corridors and great breakfast service (although I've seen more buffet selection for the price). A big indoor atrium in the centre of it all. However, I was travelling for business and the most important thing to me was getting in, catching up on my emails and preparing for my meetings the next day. That's where it all fell apart. I was blocked from viewing Google Maps, Bing, Facebook and anything that had a video or interactive feature to it. Frustrating I wasn't able to download the video I needed for my presentation the next day. All this was admitted glumly by the front desk staff as a problem. Wasn't worth the $200+ I paid that's for sure.

Having received an email on September 14th regarding a similar problem, we reacted promptly to seek solution. On September 15th, we contacted our technical support and used a personal lap top to assess the website and experience the restriction concerns. We’ve since not experienced any similar concerns from guests, so I do hope yours was an isolated incident which we’ve now rectified.
Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel was a good 20 minutes walk from the centre of Jasper. The bedroom was excellent and very comfortable. However, we sampled the breakfast in the first morning and found it dreadful. The plates were not warmed. The scrambled egg was solidified and the rest of the food was cold. We complained but were still charged and were offered a complaint card which we completed. As a result of this, we dined outside in the evening.

Glad to hear you had a comfortable stay. Terribly sorry to hear your breakfast experience, that is certainly not up to our standard. You should have been offered freshly prepared options, as our chef replenishes the buffet throughout the morning. I do hope this experience wont discourage you from returning in the future.
