Embers Steakhouse is the on site restaurant at The Marmot Lodge, approximately 1.5km from the centre of Jasper. At the time that we visited (mid June) the restaurant was pretty quiet, with only 5 other tables being occupied, so somewhat lacking in atmosphere. The servers were keen, enthusiastic and friendly but lacked basic training, e.g. picking up the wine glasses to pour wine, our soup was served immediately after the order was placed (within a minute), even before bread was brought to the table - this is something that management ought to address as the servers are doing their best but are not properly trained.
The food was OK but our steaks were overcooked, e.g my medium rare had barely any sign of pink meat.
Finally, the wooden room dividers were covered in several days worth of dust - why had management not seen this and taken steps to address?? This problem probably sums up this restaurant - lack of attention to detail, lack of caring - I would NOT recommend and will not revisit myself.
