Owner description: A two-lane scenic highway passes both the Pacific Ocean and rugged mountain peaks.

The Sea to Sky highway is a very scenic drive between Vancouver and Whistler. There are many stops along the way that will make for amazing photos. There are also numerous parks and lakes along the way. If you are interested Brandywine Falls is a great place to stop and see a 70 metre waterfall. Take a drive on a nice sunny day along this highway and you won't be disappointed and if you have some extra time stop along the way and check out the scenery.

Whether your heading all to the way to Whistler, or partway to Squamish, this is a beautiful drive. Its not often that you can drive so far right next to a fjord and see snow capped mountains on either side. One entertaining thing to visit on the highway about 45 minutes from Vancouver is Britannia Mine Museum (I'm sure its reviewed elsewhere) which I would rate as a "don't miss" attraction. There are also numerous parks of various kinds. And if you want to see black bears, turn left onto Callaghan Valley Road about 15km before you get to Whistler. Bears are often seen eating clover on the side of the road (stay in your car with windows closed for safety!). Continue on Callaghan Valley Road to see one the Olympic ski jump venues.

The drive to Whistler is the best thing about it (in the summer). The views of Howe Sound are my favorite. The snow is still visible onthe mountains even in the summer. There are numerous stops along to way to walk to magnificient sights.

First thing is don't be the driver, you'll miss a lot of the beautiful scenery! After making this drive it really makes me want to make the PCH drive from southern Cali to Canada. Several places for great photo-ops and really soak in the beauty.

The sea to sky highway has improved greatly with it being four lanes north and south with the ability to drive at a decent speed to get to Whistler. Bring a camera as there are many photo ops along the way such as Britannia Mine, Porteau Cove, Alice Lake, and Shannon Falls to name a few. Lots of parks to stop for a picnic or BBQ and to stretch out the legs.

If you're into seeing history on your travels there are pullouts going north and south that have some
Info that was set up for travellers during the Winter Olympics about First Nations heritage and other history of the surrounding land.
