Thanks for your comments about how you enjoyed our hotel for the weekend wedding that you attended here. The heritage look can certainly add to the setting for weddings. Pleased that our service took care of all that was part of your experience. We'll look forward to your coming back again.

Room was small but for the price it did its job. I got to see other rooms too, the honeymoon suite, which I believe is the same price as any other regular hotel room(cheap) was frickin amazing! The hotel shows its age, but for good reason, it has history! Old pictures of the hotel and old streets of chilliwack line the walls, it's really quite quaint.

Thanks for your comments - as a matter of fact, over the years, movies have used the hotel in various ways, so being part of a movie, yeah! Glad that the Comfort room, in spite of it's smaller "European" sized footprint, met your needs and the rate was reflective of that. However, just so you know, the Royal Jacuzzi Suite that you had a tour of does sell at a higher rate than the Comfort room. And the gallery of photos in the lobby and meeting rooms do add to the character of the hotel. So do come back and enjoy a further experience of the Royal.

Almost at the last minute my husband and I decided to leave a day early for our annual runaway weekend. Since my husband works at a Bible Camp we only have one weekend in the summer where he actually has time off and this was our weekend. We booked a room online and arrived late in the evening. Our room was quiet, perfect temperature and exactly what we hoped it would be. The bed was so comfortable that we had no problems in getting a good nights sleep and a fantastic start to our weekend. Thank-you for this little gem :)

Room Tip: Make sure to request a room that has been upgraded :)

This was our second time staying at the Royal - beautiful room with a claw foot bathtub, efficient air conditioner that was silent, slept well as the bed was perfect and it was extremely quiet, friendly and helpful staff, excellent food in the pub and hotel, very affordable. We were able to store our bikes in a locked room at not extra cost as well. We plan to back next year !

Hotel was very clean, helpful staff. No elevator, but that adds to the vintage experience. The rooms were simple but functioned well. The price was very good and the location was 5 minutes from our venue. Very pleased with our stay, and would stay there again in the future.

After reserving our antique room for two persons and being assured we would be getting a luxurious, albeit dated room, we were horrified at what we were given. At first glance in the lobby, our hearts leapt for joy at the thought of having a bubble bath in an old claw foot tub and be surrounded in history. We were given our room key and told third floor up the stairs. Although two persons with sever back issue don't normally enjoy climbing up a few flights, we were making the painful sacrifice for the sake of "stepping back in time". Then we turned the look to our room. A tiny 10x12' room with 1990's cheap bedside tables, an old 1980's tv, and no bathtub! In fact, the closet sized bathroom had a tiny shower-stall meant for a runway model sized girl and a sink you practically had to stand in the toilet to be able to brush your teeth! The best part? after turning out the lights and trying to get comfortable on the one bed between us (we are only friends/co-workers so imagine how awkward that was!), that is when we realized the keyhole to the door goes right through and everyone walking by could easily take a peek into our room directly to our sleeping positions!

Hmm, understandably, unmet expectations create disappointment. Our hotel does have a wide variety of guest rooms, from the Royal Jacuzzi Suite to antique rooms with claw foot tubs to "European" sized Comfort rooms with shower only. On our web site and at our front desk, we are very careful to describe the room carefully so that the room you are reserving for your stay meets your expectations. I do understand that after we described to you the only room left in the hotel which you agreed to use because it was all that was available locally, it does leave disappointment because another option would have been much more suited to your needs. Had we had a room more suited to your needs, we would gladly have provided that to you and, in fact, would hope that you would consider coming again when a claw foot tub or perhaps the Royal Jacuzzi Suite with its jetted tub might be there for you.

I recently went on a golfing expedition with a few friends and discovered the Royal. It was like finding a European treasure in Chilliwack. Great service, great prices and great food. If you are looking for opulent luxury, then this is not the spot for you. If you are looking for unique character and good value, then the Royal will treat you like... well... Royalty.
