“well deserving of their #1 ranking”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014

We had just finished a great day of fishing at Harrison and Fraser Rivers and wanted a good place to eat - our guide stated flat out that we had to go to Morgan's. Luckily we got what must have been the last reservation (early though) as we saw many turned away. The Caesar salad was done in an inventive way (including a balsamic reduction) - very nice. the Ciopppino was recommended by the server and was a hit - great sauce. The mussels and clams with frites were done in a nice wine sauce and the halibut was perfect (one of the best I've eaten). The meatballs were fine but not over the top. There was a decent wine list - featuring Canadian wines. Service was fine but a bit rushed and not as friendly as in the rest of the town. Would I go back? - absolutely!

“More-Gan Expected”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014

For the uninitiated, the town of Harrison Hots Springs is a recreational tourist hamlet located on the shores of Harrison Lake about 90 minutes from Vancouver. There are a variety of restaurants and bistros and coffee joints choose from. Many are average, some border on good and some are worth ignoring. Morgan's is a small operation overlooking the south shore of Harrison Lake. The restaurant itself is a small operation and intimate operation in the grand scheme of things. It does if circumstances permit, punch away above its weight class. I can see how staff and facility can be overwhelmed with an influx of clientele who are walk-ins without reservation on a summery afternoon or evening. Fortunately our first experience (40th anniversary- Aug. 23, 2014) was not the case. We ( a party of 4) reserved for 6:30 pm on a Saturday evening. We sat on the deck overlooking the lake and the weather and temperature was impeccable. We were fortunate to be served by the boss herself. She was attentive, warm, helpful in her suggestions on the evening specials and wonderfully quirky. Two of our party had the rack of lamb which was equal to any rack of lamb that I have had in high-end metropolitan restaurants in Vancouver, Seattle, Portland etc. The two ladies in our party each had the halibut and spring salmon (fresh that day) on the recommendation of the owner. We chose the recommended Kettle Valley( BC VQA) wine pairing and finished the meal with the deserts recommended for by the server-owner. Service was appropriate for the occasion. We were in no hurry. We enjoyed our wine, a complimentary apply, our conversation, the view of the lake, and the low-key, pleasant small town vibe of the restaurant. From the time we sat down to when we served the entree, 45 minutes elapsed. For some that would be an eternity in our fast-food world. For that moment in time and at particular place the evening at Morgan's was perfect! The food was superb, presentation was excellent and portions were appropriate. Was it the best meal that I've ever had in a restaurant? I hope not. It certainly matched what i have experienced in other excellent restaurants on a particular occasion. For that weekend, Morgan's exceeded expectations and was a very pleasant surprise. Would I return? Absolutely. Might conditions be exactly the same as previously experience? Probably not but I am willing to take the chance. Well done Morgan's and crew.

“Great place to eat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2014 via mobile

I happened to be at the restaurant with my family when resent incident occurred. We had a great meal and very friendly staff. That man was wrong in his review specialy when there were lots of us not born Canadians there and we were cared for exeptionaly well. He was told all the reasons why he couldn't be helped but obviously that wasn't enough. Also, witnessed an other gentlemen being turned down for the same reasons but he thanked the waitres and walked away.
We are spending a week at Harrisin Hot Springs and been at Morgans 3 times so far. Planning to go at least 2 more times.

“Wow.! for such a small town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 August 2014

Amazing.! Stayed at the big Harrison Hot Springs resort which is very nice.
Dinner there very average, so we looked around and here it is, in Trip Advisor. Just like your previous positive reviews. I can't imagine what the "racist staff" remark could possibly mean.

Superb in every way. In fact we went for lunch for outstanding fresh halibut fish and frites. Shared their famous beet salad. Pavel, is the wonderful lunch server. I hope he reads this. Morgan herself adores him, she says.
Couldn't resist as we had only one more day in Harrison, so we went for dinner. WOW
Must have a reservation. We might go there again, a 3 hour drive from our home in Kamloos.

“Most amazing meal I've had in Harrison! Hidden gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2014

I've been to Harrison plenty of times but tried Morgans out for the first time on a recent trip with my best friend, it was amazing! Great service, great menu, great drink, great everything! We had a few cocktails to start, we each had an appy......she had halibut I had braised beef, shared a bottle of wine, then each had a dessert. Amazing wine list. It was so hard to chose what to have for dinner because there were so many choices, normally there's just one or two things that really appeal to me, but I had to decide between about four things. The service was great? We were the last ones at the restaurant and we chatted for a few minutes with the owner and chef, they were all lovely!
The only thing that wasn't top notch was the spiders crawling along their webs on the back of our bench seating.
