Hot Spring Villa Hotel
Reviewed 29 December 2013

Stayed for the after Christmas weekend. Had a lake view room. The room was comfortable. It has a fridge and a coffee pot. Had a 50's blue bathroom toilet and tub but with updated shower enclosure. Cable and wifi included with the room. Hot water takes a while to heat up but otherwise for the price it was a steal. Also has a balcony with chairs and little table. Has same view as the much more expensive Harrison Hot Springs Hotel. Close to coffee shop, pool and beach. Restaurant does not seem to be open currently.

Room Tip: As for the lake view rooms

A short distance from Hope, British Columbia you arrive at the famous Harrison Hot Springs Resort and Spa. We stopped for lunch to investigate whether we would stay on our return trip. Many of our friends and family have given rave reviews in the past. Our first impression was that parking for lunch was $5 per hour. The whole place screams dated dated dated so I hope they find a buyer to rescue and restore. It is not that far off the highway - people could be inspired to come in. The views are magnificent and the hot springs will always be a draw. The hostess was neither welcoming or prompt in a nearly empty restaurant but the waiter was putting in an effort. Overall it makes you sad.

We only had one night at this fabulous motel, but the stay was great and we wished we had another night.

You can't beat the location, right across from the lake and we were fortunate to be here during the Harrison Festival of the Arts, which featured live music and several tents with crafts from artisans in the area and from other parts of B.C.

We had a wonderful stay, the lake is warm and beautiful and the strip across from the lake is a nice walk with restaurants and shops.

The motel was very, very quiet. The room was spotless and the fixtures in the bathroom were a bit hold, but shining like they were new. The fridge was spotless and the layout of the room was great with two couches and a TV which you could watch from bed if you choose.

The only complaint was the king-size bed was pretty hard. A nice thick mattress pad would have made all the difference.

The restaurant was very quaint and the schnitzel meal was one of the better we had ever had.

I would stay here again for sure and would recommend the same to anyone.

hot water (on demand system) took over 3 mins to get to tap....an eternity when u have just gone potty. Restaurant closed and very dated (but clean) rooms. Great location for walking around Harrison.bed, bedding and towels well past their best days.
Clean environment, just a place to rest, not stay more than one night.
Friendly and helpful staff, good job Cindy.

Hot water took forever, restaurant downstairs was closed and the TV box worked 50% of the time. Despite all these though, nice service and we had an amazing view of the lake. I don't recommend this place unless you are a VIEW FANATIC and that's only when it has those rooms available.

Room Tip: Always ask for a view of the lake or you'll be looking at the parking lot.

This hotel was just ok for us. We only wanted a place to sleep while visiting relatives in the area so didn't need a lot of amenities. We booked late so the only room available overlooked the back parking lot. The room was big with two upholstered chairs and a coffee table as well as two beds. The towels and bedding were clean but old. The carpet definitely should be replaced. The in-room heating system was either on, with the noise of a fan, or off. It had been turned on prior to our arrival so the room was warm. We turned it off for the night. The hot water system took awhile to deliver hot water. The fan in the bathroom was so noisy that we didn't turn on the light that was linked to it, so no light over the sink. Considering that the cost was $75, it was ok, but we don't feel inclined to rush back.

Neat room for value with comfortable bed & quiet view over esplanade with panoramic lake view from our room, which we paid a little extra when offered on check in. Friendly, obliging service to make our stay comfortable. Requested a kettle so we could make a cup of tea which was found & delivered to our room in a friendly manner.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a lake view
