Very clean room and friendly staff. The breakfast offered was great with a terrific view from the 3rd floor room with a large fresh air balcony. Right next door was a Joey's seafood restaurant and the food there was awesome. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was average. Some nice updates, but they were unfortunately overshadowed by the rude front desk clerk and the old and LOUD air conditioner in our room. No one in our room had a good night sleep because of the excessive rattling.

We stayed one night enroute Alberta to BC. Check in was slow at 5:00 pm with one clerk and three customers; took 15 min. to sort through the first customers' reservation. I booked through a third party site and was initially given another customer's reservation details to complete. We were given a room but none of the card keys worked. The desk sent a staffer who got us in, but even she had difficulty. It turned out the door strike was loose and the door wouldn't close or open right. We asked for another room. The door worked, but the room had only one tiny window - a third to half the width of a regular room window. The air conditioner was mounted very high up over the window for some reason. We asked for another room, which was acceptable. The entire process from arrival to final good room took over 45 minutes.
The room was clean. It had a mini kitchenette including stove. The room 'finish' was below average - raw plywood covered half the old air conditioner opening. There was an unfinished drywall patch outside the bathroom. In the bathroom the ceiling was badly stained and the shower bar was loose; both the toilet and towel bar over it were mounted crookedly; the sink taps worked in reverse (hot on the right); and, the pop up sink stopper didn't seal properly.

The good was the third floor breakfast room. It was big and bright with great views. The food included hot hard boiled eggs, pancakes, and sausage patties along with cereals, juices, yogurt, toast, etc. There was a waffle maker. The food attendant was friendly, attentive, and competent; she did a good job.

Yes, this hotel has been renovated but the renovations look like they have been completed shoddily. For a one night low priced stopover this hotel is only just "OK".

Room Tip: Note some rooms have vinyl tile floors. I recommend you ask for a room with a normally sized window...

Not very baby friendly ie no highchairs. Not enough food on the breakfast buffet and no one came to refill it. Housekeeping started at about 8 to clean my room when check out is at 11 making me feel very rushed. No towels at the pool and we were not informed at check in where to get the towels.
Beds were comfortable.
