This was a very convenient place to stay no matter which way you entered Kamloops. The room was clean, beds were very comfortable and staff were very accommodating. We were close to the downtown area and Riverside Park. We were disappointed with the pool size as had young teens. The cost was reasonable and view of river was relaxing.

Room Tip: We were on the lawn floor so convenient to go out and relax in lawn chairs and enjoy the view of the...

My mom and stayed here for about a week, although the staff was great as well as the view and breakfast was great, I do feel the need to address some serious issues. We were in room 101 bottom floor facing river. First off the light fixtures are full of dead little bugs, secondly there was some kind of rodent inside the wall scratching and moving around all night one night, thirdly a massive spider in the bathroom scared me half to death when I started looking around for more I discovered that behind the tv stand/ dressor was layered in thick spider webs, dirt, dust and garbage even a wad of chewed up gum, fourthly the old school fluorescent lights in bathroom and sink area flicker when turning them on for a good 5-6 seconds before fully being lit. Thank god i'm not epileptic, pretty sure I would have had a seizure or two. Fifthly our key cards for the room needed to be reprogrammed daily for our entire stay, not that this is a gross problem but rather a constant inconvenience. Sixthly our bathroom sink and kitchenette sink had sand in them upon arrival, forgiveable yes but along with everything else I discovered I feel the need to mention it. I also had to reprogram the tv remote myself. Feel free to stay here but bare in mind you have been fully informed of much needed attention to major details.

Nice little hotel run mom and pop style. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Rooms need a little updating or this reveiw would be a 5. But we really like this place. Great view of hillside and mountains and a big river in the back where you can sit 20 feet from your room door and relax and have a beer!
They suggested the little restaurant next door for dinner that night. Of our 10 day trip this was the best food we had.
Great little place!!

We stayed here for a wedding last weekend, the front desk staff was great, the rooms were clean and it was convenient to where we needed to be. The only downfalls are that the 2 beds in our room were absolutely ROCK hard, there was no extra blankets in the room, and the continental breakfast was not that great. All that being said, I would still stay here again due to it being a wonderful location, and the price was pretty good.

Firstly, if you are coming into Kamloops from Cache Creek, make sure you get in the left turn lane just before going over the bridge - otherwise you'll have to go over the bridge, turn around and come back - there is a highway sign just before the turn. Easy to find as it's just 1/2 block right off the main highway - although you can't see the place from the highway. If you wanted to go into the town you would have to drive.

This place was perfect for our group (8 couples) as they have a lovely, large sitting area outside (which allows alcohol) plus they have other picnic tables available. These are on the grassy side next to the river. There is also a restaurant right next door ("Storms on the River") which also has an outdoor eating area overlooking the river - see my review on it.

Anyway, all the rooms at the Inn overlook the river view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless although a couple of other people said that theirs wasn't (bottle cap on floor, etc. - nothing major).

The only 'somewhat' drawback is that the eating area for breakfast is really small. But, if the weather is nice you could certainly go outside to one of the picnic tables. Breakfast was the normal fare - little egg patties, sausages, toast, juice (which was warm), coffee, muffins, etc. No yogurt or fresh fruit.

Lastly, if you're a smoker like me there is 2 designated smoking areas - one in the parking lot with no ashtray or seating area but a 2nd one in the grassy area with a picnic table. No smoking allowed on the rooms with balconies.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony.

We stayed off the Rocky Mountaineer train trip and it was a little disappointing. The location is 30 minutes walk outside of town, right by a busy and noisy bridge bridge over the Thompson River and the speed boats on the river (up to 11.00pm) just added to the constant noise. The room was spacious but poorly appointed - vinyl floor in the bathroom and towels stored on the toilet cistern is not a very classy image in my book!

We stayed in this Kamloops hotel overnight as part of our Rocky Mountaineer trip. From the outside it looks like an American motel from the 60s, however you're massively surprised once you get inside the rooms -big and spacious with two double beds, a balcony looking out over the Thompson River and it was also without a doubt the best night's sleep that I had for the entire trip! Downtown's a good 20 minute walk but the hotel operated its own shuttle service, with the last pick-up being at 9.10pm from the 540 Hotel. Location's not fantastic but overall it was a very good stay!
