If you want to see the local wildlife up close - and give the kids a fun time - visit the BC Wildlife Park in Kamloops, BC. Local indigenous species like wolves, bear, elk, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, moose and more are there to see. Predatory birds are also on display, as are non-native species such as camels and squirrel monkeys.

The kids will enjoy the minatauire train tour as well as the small water park, petting zoo and playground. All in all, an educational and entertaining couple of hours for both kids and adults!

“Visiting the Wildlife”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2003

My husband and I visited Kamloops Wildlife Park in August this year. It was a particularly hot day - as it has usually been this year - and we practically melted as we walked round the Park. However, we enjoyed the views of the animals. The wolf was particularly aloof in that he/she would not move from the shadow of the trees, understandably. The wolf cubs were cute. Enjoyed the Grizzlies, wonderful to see them so close, marvelled at the length of their claws. Until we visited the Park we were not aware that all the animals were released if possible but some obviously could not be. Rather sad to see the eagles, did not feel their surroundings were large enough. All in all, an enjoyable visit and we hope that the Park remains safe in the wake of the forest fires, as we wish all of Kamloops and surrounding district to be safe also.
