Reviewed 4 August 2014 via mobile

We stayed here in July 2014 and it was an absolute pleasure. Leagh was an absolutely wonderful host and a very interesting person to talk to. The room was beautiful and opened up to our own semi-private balcony which Overlooked Kelowna where we had breakfast every morning.

Definitely a must-stay if you are looking for bed and breakfasts in Kelowna!

This is our second stay at The Hopeless Romantic B and B. Both experiences have been fabulous. We love the location and the view is incredible from the rooms. Our hostess Leagh welcomed us into her beautiful home once again as if it was ours. We stayed in the Champagne suite this time on the main floor of the house. It was beautifully decorated and had this huge balcony that overlooked the city and Okanagan lake. It was hard to head for bed at night because the city lights were breathtaking, so relaxing after of long day of site seeing. Breakfast was delicious and served to us on fine china with the orange juice in champagne glasses, very classy. We love the Okanagan and will definitely return but only if we can stay again at the very special place. Thanks for making this such a unique experience. We will return.

Room Tip: They are all great and all unique.

“SEX! You want SEX? You’ll only get sex when the kid next door walks on the moon.” 30 years later the kid next door becomes the first person to land on the moon; and so goes the apocryphal story that Neil Armstrong, shortly after setting foot on the moon, is reported to have said, “Good luck Mr Gorsky” as a nodding reference to the overheard comment from his neghbour.

Neil Armstrong never did return to the moon, and so it appears that the hapless Mr Gorsky was to experience one of life’s greatest pleasures for the one and only time. However, had he heard about the Hopeless Romantic B&B in Kelowna, then, like me, he would not have had to wait for another moon landing to experience another of life’s greatest pleasures and treasures.
It was exactly one year to the day, July 1st Canada Day, that we began our second sojourn to experience the delights and fantasy that is the Hopeless Romantic B&B.

Once again we became a guest of loves tune, and with my friend and lover close by my side, so were our hearts to be at peace as we were embraced by the warmth and friendliness of Leagh, the creator and keeper of the Hopeless Romantic.

And, later that evening, the sumptuous welcoming bed and smooth soft sheets enveloped us causing our senses to tingle to their very touch.

From our balcony looking across the lakeshore we watched as lake beams glistened in the dark and then faded like bursting fireworks. Moments like these are lost in time like tears in the rain.

I turn and my lover beckons me to “Kiss Me at the Garden Gate.” Who can resist such an offer? It is always available no matter the time of the day or night. You just have to look for it. Little moments like these are further accentuated as our charming host, leaves us a few freshly baked blueberry scones served on Heart shaped plates.

If wine and passion is your path to merriment the Hopeless Romantic will fulfill your desires and encapsulate you in a shower of romance. Your stay at the Hopeless Romantic places you in close proximity to some of the best Wineries in the Okanagan valley and indeed in the whole of Canada.

If your desire is to sample the delights of the many wineries then Leagh can organise a wine tour to titillate your taste buds. If you preference is to sit on the spacious sunny deck relaxing with a cool glass of bubbly and let time drift lazily by, then try one of the Romance Packages. Guys…..your lover will be thanking you in ways that you never dreamed possible when you shower her with roses, chocolates strawberries and champagne……so step up to the plate and treat her to one of the many fabulous Romance Packages.

After four glorious days and nights it was time to bid farewell again to the Hopeless Romantic; but, like the autumn leaves that are compelled to tumble to the ground and die, and in the springtime… like sweet memories they will return, so will we. But until then…time seems to stand quite still.

My wife and I stayed in the Merlot Suite from June 24 to June 28.
The room was everything you would expect from a 5-Star hotel.
It is beautifully decorated and fully equipped to make you feel right at home.
With the private balcony offering an interesting view of the lake and valley, it is a pleasure to bring back a good bottle of wine and enjoy a quiet dinner with a superb sunset.
Leagh, the owner, made herself available to cater for our every need, also providing great recommendations for wineries to discover.
Beside the challenge of carrying the luggages down and up a narrow and steep staircase, as the Merlot suite is located in the lower part of the B&B, we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending The Hopeless Romantic to anyone looking for a unique B&B conveniently located off the hills of kelowna (northeast region of the lake)

For those looking to discover the southern part of the Okanagan valley, we strongly recommend splitting your stay in two different location as it is easily a 2 hours drive to the beautiful Osoyoos/Oliver region. Something near Namarata would be a wise and beautiful choice...
Driving back and forth to discover everything the valley has to offer can be tiresome.

Thank you Leagh for your hospitality,
France and Martin, Boucherville, QC.

My wife and I stayed for two nights in the Merlot Suite during September 2013.
We try to use B&B accommodation for our travels as we find it a far better experience than following the crowds and using hotels. The Hopeless Romantic provided amongst the best experiences B&B can offer, a luxurious well equipped suite, great food, wonderful hosting, together with great views across Kelowna and the Okanagan Lake due to its raised location. Unfortunately it was rather cool and overcast during our stay so the alfresco breakfasts were out of the question, but we can see it would be a spectacular sxperience with the views (which are equally good from the breakfast table).
This is a great place to explore all the region has to offer – especially the vineyards (best kept secret in the world, Okanagan wines can compete with the best). Grey Monk is well worth a visit, especially if you combine it with a meal at the Grapevine Restaurant.
If there is a down side, in some peoples eyes, it is that downtown and the lake is around 12km (7.5 miles) away, around 15 minutes drive. This is more than compensated for by the views and experience you will get!
Unfortunately we missed Leigh (everyone has to have a break sometime), but her choice of stand-in did her proud.
Would we stay here again? Absolutely we would!

My wife and I stayed in the Champagne Suite in early September. The room has quality furnishings and you get superb views of the lake, and the sunset, from the private balcony. Leagh is a wonderful host and catered for our every need, including gluten free meals as I am a coeliac. The breakfasts are beautifully presented, taste delicious, and will satisfy the largest appetite. Leagh is very knowledgeable of the area, and is a superb host, even sharing some of her recipes with us. I have no hesitation in recommending The Hopeless Romantic to anyone looking for a well equipped B&B in a quiet location, with great food, and a perfect host. When we take our next holiday in Kelowna, it's where we will be staying. Thank you Leagh for your wonderful hospitality, Sue & John, Okotoks AB.
