I shared a room with my sister and strangely, our beds faced each other foot to foot. The room was small but clean. Best part was staying in a landmark at a beautiful location. The roof is awesome. Their food was excellent.

Dear Pat P,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Tripadvisor.
It is true that we do have some guestrooms that have different bedding configurations than the typical side-by-side dbl, dbl guestrooms that most standard hotels offer. All of our two-bedded rooms have two queen beds vs. two dbl beds. Some of the beds are configured in an L-shape, some face each other (like the room you stayed in) and three of the rooms are side-by-side. Whatever fits the space best. I guess you can call it "The Charms of an Inn." The next time you stay with us, ask for one of our corner guestrooms as these guestrooms are large and have the L-shape bedding configuration.
We always strive to provide our guests with good value for the money they spend at our business. I'm really happy to hear that you had the opportunity to enjoy our "Sunroof." Our goal in building out this space (5000 sq ft rooftop of our 4 story tower) was to provide our guests with a "value add" by offering something unique: a sun lounging area with chairs, day beds, and a view that is second to none!
Thank you for your feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

We recently got married at the Eldorado. We had numerous family and friends staying at the El, and all had great things to say. The staff at the Eldorado were fantastic from the vallet service to the bar staff everyone was friendly and helpful. The event staff (Leona and Kristi) were also great. They made the wedding planning experience very easy. I would highly recommend for not only weddings but just for a nice weekend away!

If you're a biker, part of a stag or to drunk to know the difference; this place is for you.
Families, couples over 30 should stay away.
Great place for lunch. For sleep or a vacation go elsewhere.
Dockside Marine has decent boat rental facilities.

Dear Move2BC,
Thank you for your feedback. However, the brevity and lack of detail included within your post has left me scratching my head. Never in the history of our business have we ever received feedback suggesting that our business is a "place for bikers." We do have some patrons who choose to visit us via motorcycle, but these guests would be more accurately described as weekend motorcycle enthusiasts versus bikers.
We are a very busy destination (especially in the summer) and the venue of choice for numerous weddings from April-October. We may even have an occassional stag group or wedding party that decides to stop in for a drink in our lounge on their special day. However, please let me assure you that the impression of our business that you have is not consistent with what is "the norm" at The El. We are a business that caters to the 30+ clientele and are known to be a great place in the Okanagan for people to spend special occasions, book romance packages, and relax by dining lakeside in our dining room or on our boardwalk.
I would appreciate an opportunity to speak with you about your visit to our family's business. I am eager to learn the details of your experience and understand why you have come to view our business as you do.
Thanks
Brad

Although we were "warned" that our room in the old wing would be noisy; we were not prepared for the noise assault which seemingly emanated from every corner of our room. Their is no soundproofing: the guests partying in the bar below, well past midnight, may as well have been in our room. The monotony of the cacophony from the bar below was only interrupted by our stiletto clicking neighbor's incessantly slamming their door as they utilized their room as an adjunct to the party room on the second floor. The beauty of this spot is completely negated by the noise. As an experienced traveller I have never stayed in a hotel with such terrible acoustics/sound proofing. It is inexcusable!

Room Tip: Do not take a room in the old wing.

Dear Peripatetic1derer,
Thank for letting us know about your experience. Your post did not mention a specific date that you stayed with us, but I'm thinking it was this past Saturday evening based on the date of your posting. I checked our Front Desk Log (where our Front Desk Team keeps notes re: occurrences during their shift), but found no mention of any calls to our Front Desk Team re: noise. I sincerely wish you would have let our Front Desk team know about the "more than expected" level of noise that was affecting the quality of your stay. We did have other guestrooms available in our Arms building of the hotel that we would have been more than happy to move you into (or at least provide you access to sleep in if you did not want to pack up your guestroom and move rooms entirely).
The Heritage wing of our hotel is built like a 1926 hotel and we are very aware of the potential for noise in specific guestrooms located in this wing of the hotel. We host wedding ceremonies and receptions virtually every Saturday night during the Summer and we know that this does create noise for specific guestrooms located in our Heritage wing. I am happy to hear that our staff was upfront and proactive in letting you know that the guestroom you were booking was going to be noisy for the evening(s) you stayed with us. Our goal in making reservations for these select guestrooms is to provide our guests with all the information necessary in order to make an informed decision whether the guestroom they are considering to book will meet their needs with respect to noise, view, size, etc. It is clear from your comments that at some point during your stay, the level of noise that you considered to be reasonable (having been provided with with the disclaimer re: noise at the time of booking) was surpassed. I'd appreciate to learn more details regarding your stay. Specifically, I'd like to learn more regarding the information that was provided to you at the time of booking the guestroom. Did our Front Desk Agents offer you different guestroom options that were available at the time of check-in? Did you bring any of your concerns to any of our staff's attention? If so, how were they handled? Please conact me on my direct line (250) 869-6077 to discuss these details of your stay. If you'd prefer me to contact you, please email me a phone number upon which I can reach you - bradsieben@eldoradokelowna.com.
I apologize for your disappointing stay. I look forward to speaking to you and learning more entire Hotel Eldorado experience.
Thanks

our first stay at the hotel eldorado in kelowna was short but nice.we did not receive any special service; however our room on the third floor was clean and nice. we enjoyed the boardwalk patio bar with great food and drinks. It would have been great if we had a view of the lake from our room... maybe next time.

We recently celebrated our wedding at Hotel Eldorado. The El has a roofttop patio which is the perfect backdrop for weddings and other special events. Our reception was held in the Great Room which is located on the second level. It is a room surrounded by windows, with it's private terrace, bar, foyer and bathrooms. All staff from bellman, front desk, events, banquets, restaurant, kitchen were extremely accommodating to our requests. Our family and friends had wonderful things to say about the service they received throughout their stay and also the day of the wedding. We cannot wait to go back to The El, it is such a beautiful hotel in an ideal location.

Room Tip: Definitely stay in the new Arms wing. It has elevator, and the rooms are nicely decorated and roomie...

My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary at the Eldorado and couldn't have been better taken care of. From the reservation (which they graciously changed a few times), to arrival earlier than expected then our thrill when our room looked right out to the lake (great people watching)!!. We had an amazing dinner in the restaurant where the waiter helped us create a shared plate with a 'bit of a couple' entrees. He was very helpful and attentive. The Eldorado has a unique charm specially in the original building but then is mixed with a new feel with the roof top patio on the expanded section of the hotel. They really make it a beautiful experience - thank you!!

The Hotel Eldorado has been part of BC's destination hotel resort experience since 1926. It is a story of Austrian blue bloods and thrilling vacations, a story of a famous honour bar and Olympic rowers, a story of London cabs and dog shows. From the beginning, it has always been a story of unique hospitality, social events and a welcome that knows no borders. It was then what it is today; a singularly unique social and vacation experience set in one of Canada's most spectacular destinations, the Okanagan Valley. 300 kilometres from the Lower Mainland in the BC Interior and an easy flight from all major airports, the Hotel Eldorado is located on the shores of Okanagan Lake. For those who have travelled in other countries, you will recognize that this place is one of the most scenic in the world. The Hotel Eldorado is as storied as our town and all those who have graced our doors since 1926. It is a gem and we all look forward to welcoming you to The El. ... more   less
