This is in a good location that is a little further out of Kelowna, good if you have a family or just don't feel like going in to Kelowna every day. the kitchen had plenty of cooking gear and plates/cups/etc. so there is no reason to go out for every meal which is good if you have kids to put to bed or just don't want to spend all of your money on restaurant dining.
This villa was a good price, room was nice and had a fantastic view. There was also a little shop at the front office where you could pick up small items and snacks.
The only negative was the walkway to the villas is right outside the two back bedrooms which was a little noisy at times.
We stayed in the three bedroom villa and it was brilliant. The view from the room was lovely and the villa was large, clean and well layed out. Quick walk to the pool and down to the water. The road out to the hotel is long but well maintained. There are deer and big horned sheep on the road so you have to watch out for them.

Room Tip: Stay in the villas!

We like going to LOR during the first week in May - Spring Okanagan Wine Festival. Stay for a week and always book room #561 in the Terrace building. It is one of the older buildings. The main reason we like LOR is that it is very quiet and peaceful at that time of year. Some folks may complain about the road to the resort, the last three years it was voted/ranked the worst road in BC, but hell we are on vacation and not in a hurry. Only 20 minutes from the nearest winery!

It was a nice surprise to walk into our room this year and see that there was new living room furniture, flat screen TV and DVD player. As well as new outdoor furniture and BBQ's on the patio. We choose the same unit each year because it's entrance is on the ground floor and the terrace gives lots of outdoor space and fabulous views of the lake.

The par 3, 9 hole golf course will EAT YOU UP. It is in decent shape and you will get your exercise, especially on the last three holes. Daily we would walk the trails and get a good cardio workout. Pool & restaurant were not open yet, but we ate in our room as it has a fully equipped kitchen and we did enjoy the hot tub.

Overall the resort is "tired", but there is some money being spent on upgrades. However, the peace and quiet and tranquility offset any issues. Finally .... always comfortable beds.

Room Tip: If you are staying in the older section of the resort, stay in the Terrace unit 5th floor. Rooms 561...

We stayed in a three-bedroom townhouse-style condo which was obviously one of the original buildings. The unit was VERY spacious with a very well-equipped kitchen -- this was valuable as we had friends visiting and prefer to eat in our unit. There was also a good B-B-Q and in-unit laundry machines, lots of closet and cupboard storage space and good-sized vestibule entry and patio with table and chairs.
Because we were pre-season, the restaurant was not yet open, nor the fitness facility or pools, but the hot tub was available. We enjoyed free golf on the nifty nine-hole course right outside our door. Fresh air in the unit could only be achieved by leaving sliding doors open -- no separate windows to open ! The furnishings are dark and the lighting seemed dim (energy conservation ?) so on rainy days it felt a bit gloomy. The bathrooms (4-pc., 3-pc, and 2-pc.) were good size but lacked enough towel bars for six people and the shower heads are very out-dated. So, we had a good visit but many folks might find some inconveniences troubling.

Room Tip: There are many buildings to choose from, of varying vintage, so be specific in making your preferenc...

Thank you for your review, it is very much appreciated. I am glad you had such a nice time staying at Lake Okanagan Resort! That is great that you found our Three Bedroom Condo quite suitable for your needs. Next time if you do find that you are interested in upgrading from a two star accommodation to a five star please inquire at the Front Desk. While the restaurant was currently closed for the off-season the fitness center, outdoor and indoor hot tubs, and saunas were open complimentary to our guests. For a key to these facilities please stop by the Front Desk. Thank you for staying at Lake Okanagan Resort and we hope to see you again soon!

Stayed at Lake Okanagan Resort from April 11 to 14, 2014. We were in one of the newer buildings but people traveling with us were in the older buildings. Both rooms were lakefront.

Resort was clean, well maintained and we had no issues at all. The newer one bedroom suite was much nicer but the older one bedroom was still very livable. Both were clean and well stocked.

We plan on staying here again since it looks like a great place for families to be. Even has a decent looking golf course for me!

It is a bit out of Kelowna (20-30min drive) but well worth it to get the peace and quiet the resort offers.

We most recently spent 2 nights at Lake Okanagan Resort as a getaway for my fiancée and myself to reconnect and spend some quality time together. Although the kitchen in our studio suite was outdated ...maybe built in the 70's ?!? It did serve it's purpose. Our stay there was so quiet and peaceful. We especially enjoyed the convenience of renting movies from their store :) Thank you to the staff at Lake Okangan Resort for a great visit. We hope to go back soon !! :)

Big Barge built the marina and Brad G was a sub-contractor who was on site, off and on over two months.
The comments about the stay are related to the time of construction of the marina.
The marina was part of the upgrades that were taking place at the resort in March 2012.

Big Barge crews were on site for 4 months during construction of this marina. Our rooms were complimentary. I am greatly disappointed that someone whom was a subcontractor to our company would do something like this 2 years after their stay.
I found the staff most accommodating, and yes at time we were there the resort was not up to the standard expected of the owners and management, whom had just taken over the resort property.
I have been at the resort since we built the marina and each time it has improved.

I went to the resort with my boyfriend for our anniversary. Or room was in an extremely old builing. The only nice thing about the room was the view. Other than that, it was incredibly dated, smelled like Value Village. The ceiling fan nearly flew off the roof when we turned it on. The A/C unit only had one setting - antarctica. Turning it on meant freezing our buns off, but the room was so hot that we didnt have a choice. We were excited to sleep in the king size bed, but it was so hot in the bedroom, that we slept in the living room on the fold out couch with the sliding door open! The hot tub was out of order, and the service was ok... I had to stay there again in August for a bachlorette. There was 10+ girls staying in a room, and the AC was broken! Umm, august in Kelowna... it was 35+ degrees! We called the front desk and the girl said was extremely rude... she said we must not know how to operate it. Theres an on/off switch... a zombie could do it. She said she would send a handy man out when she got the chance.. and said that it could be hours. When we asked to switch rooms she said there wasnt any available. We asked for a fan and she said she would bring it down after the desk closed.. in 3 hours. Not good service at all. Finally at 11pm the girl came down with a fan... once it started cooling off and we didnt actually need it anymore. Overall, we were super disappointed with it! I am not the type to complain at all, but I couldnt believe that after paying $200 for a room that this is what we got. I'm sure the expensive villas by the lake are nice... along with the service you must get for spending more money.

Room Tip: if you can afford it, stay in the villas. otherwise, steer clear

Thank you for your review. I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your stays at the resort. We are addressing the issue of the customer service at the Front Desk regarding the late delivery of the fan and the broken air conditioner.

We also apologize for not making you aware that we do have two hot tubs on the property so you could have utlized the second one if the other one had required unexpected maintenance.

If you would like to visit us again then we would be happy to accommodate you in a newer Villa which features modern decor, based on availability.
