Very nice and obviously very new. The building is a large log-and-stone building with a good view of the lake. After carrying your bags around back, you enter into a very large foyer. Up the stairs onto the balcony and three rooms beckon. Decor is much above average. Cleanliness is excellent. Beds are superb. The tub is long enough for a tall man by himself. The towels are thick enough to use as mattresses. Breakfast - Michelle must have been a professional chef at some time in her past!
Pros: View, comfort, amazing breakfast (!), decor. Quiet area, making the room generally quiet. No phone in room.
Cons: 1) People anywhere in the common areas (lounge, kitchen, etc) can be plainly heard from the suites; some soundproofing on the suite doors would be very welcome for those wanting to sleep in a bit. 2) No coffee-maker. While the breakfast coffee is plentiful and excellent, some of us have morning routines involving that wonderful first cup before getting dressed. Despite the no-food-in-the-rooms policy, wine glasses are provided, why not a coffee-maker? 3) More instructions are needed. As an example, the heater/a-c unit is stand-alone and not intuitive. As another, the shower is amazing - more gleaming nozzles than the average plumbing store. It looked wonderful after a long day on the road but how to control it was not obvious and a blast of icy water 'below the belt' instantly ended that experiment...
Suggestions for the owners of a new place. Your best asset is the view from the small balconies; capitalize on that. Bathrobes! How wonderful it would've been to have been able to lounge on the balcony in a warm robe - they're almost standard these days in even medium-priced hotels. The tub is lovely, but a bar of soap would've been nice (vice just the pump in the shower). Matches would be a good idea for the beautiful tealights you provided. One of us loves to lounge in the tub with a book, but the lighting in the bathroom is far too dim for that; a small lamp would've been appreciated. A very nice place, but a book of matches, an allowance to eat in our room, some robes and slippers and a coffee maker would've boosted our rating by another full star
