The Carmelis goat farm in Kelowna is at the end of a beautiful drive. They offer samples of a variety of goat cheese. It is a bit expensive but the cheese is of the highest quality. We bought almost every kind there and are enjoying trying them in different recipes or on their own.
The gelato is so good and great for those of us who are lactose intolerant.
The staff are very helpful and know their product. They offer cooking tips for various cheeses which are very helpful.

We visited the goat farm in March 2014. There were the cutest baby goats (kids) we were able to watch in the barn. It reminded me of the youtube video "Buttermilk plays with her friends". Good for kids and adults.

The girl in the store was friendly, helpful and attentive and offered us samples. We purchased a beer soaked hard cheese and a chevry dill and onion. Can't wait to try them!

The farm is a bit out of the way (although there was a sign that makes me think they may be moving soon?), but it's worth the visit!

It's a cool goat farm and a shop positioned in a beautiful place with a great view. That's it. You can probably find similar setups everywhere you go in North America. But it deserves the above-average rating simply because their weird goat milk gelato tastes pretty good, and because besides this farm, a few of average vineyards and a lake with a promenade, Kelowna doesn't have much to offer. The Carmelis farm is decisively one of the area's highlights. When you are there, check out how the dogs herd the goats, it is pretty cool.

I'm glad we took the time to drive out to Carmelis. It's a charming little goat farm perched on a steep hill. You can view the goats and some of the operations. But the best part is the shop. If you love cheese then this is a most do. You can sample every cheese they offer with a purchase. Which is easy because there are so many delicious varieties of cheese you will definitely want to buy at least one. We were there for cheese but got tempted by the other customers raving about the gelato so we had to try. WOW! the gelato is amazing. You can't tell the difference in flavour being made with goat's milk, it was just as delicious as gelato I had in Italy. Very fresh homemade flavours. loved it! Definitely with the drive.

This farm dairy that produces artisanal goat cheeses has been at this very scenic location in Southern Mission(Kelowna) for about 10 years. The drive there is a scenic delight with sweeping views over the lake. Foodies will take note that there are three wineries close by. Once you arrive, you can also see the goats that are cavorting outside, and kids of all ages with like to take a peek into the window of a barn and maybe see a baby goat. Once you are inside, you'll find a tidily laid out shop that offers numerous varieties of their goat cheeses and also a beautiful array of yummy gelatos. If you just come to taste, you'll pay $2.00 to get a taste of about half a dozen varieties. If you decide to make a purchase, the tasting is complimentary. The cheese varieties are very tasty, and people who are concerned about something that tastes"goaty" or harsh, will be in for a very pleasant surprise. As far as prices are concerned, the cheeses are not inexpensive. You certainly pay for a very good product, but then a meltingly delicious piece of "Moonlight" is a wonderful, special treat that you will not get every day!
