Owner description: The BC Wine Museum & VQA Wine Shop was opened 15 years ago with the intention to bring the history of the Okanagan Wine Region to the public, as well as to help teach the public about the vast wine industry in BC. Our shop sells BC Vintners Quality Alliance wines; which is a guarantee that you’re purchasing 100% BC Wine. We sell at winery prices and carry over 600 listings of wine from over 90 wineries. When you purchase wine from the BCVQA Wine Shop, not only are you supporting the Kelowna Museums Society, but you are also supporting local VQA Wineries.

“Good selection of smaller vineyards and lesser known wines”
Reviewed 15 May 2014

This building is a well restored tribute to the wine industry of BC. Not just a wine shop - there are antique barrels, equipment, photos, videos and information boards. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoyed a nice Pinot Noir while I shopped...
Conveniently located downtown, close to restaurants and shops. Plenty of parking.
Well recommended.

“Stop here before touring for great advice”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

As well as supplying a huge range of local wines, the staff in here are really knowledgeable about what to find where and made great suggestions for winery areas to visit (along with the irresistible free samples)!

“So Knowledgeable”
Reviewed 19 October 2013

Heritage building with a wine store - makes for very interesting conversations. The staff are up to date on all the new release wines and can offer information about each select bottle. Just ask and they can find that special wine for dinner or your collection.

“A wonderful surprise!”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

I was delighted when directed to this special wine museum of local wines. The selection is lovely, the assistance knowledgeable, the setting inviting and delightful, and the wine selection very enjoyable. I wished to purchase a nice bottle of wine for my hosts, and left with an array of fine accessories from napkins to wine glass drying matts; wine bottle pumps and delightful jellies for appetizers. I was so thrilled with my purchases, I came out of the store and headed kitty corner to Bliss Bakery Bistro for a delectable cappuccino made with soy, and a gluten-free mega muffin!

If you enjoy walking, the museum is located at the corner of Cawton and Ellis, as is Bliss Bakery; if you are up for a fun discovery trip, walk on Ellis toward Bernard Avenue (toward the downtown), and there are a number of fun little shops along the way. A perfect afternoon!

“Best prices for wine”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

We often check out this store because of the knowledge of the staff and the prices. They always have some great specials. The museum portion is a beautiful old building. We couldn't see that much this time because of a private function going on.
