“A great place to relax”

We stayed in Madrona suite for 2 nights in August. This is a very large suite with a jetted tub and the view of the lake. I will not repeat the accolades found on Tripadvisor - the hosts are friendly, helpful etc. One tip I can offer and this is just my opinion: don't waste your time sightseeing in Nanaimo - this is not Europe or even the East Coast with its rich history and quaint tourist traps. Stay on the B&B lake instead - relax, swim, kayak, sleep in the hammock... This place with its magnificent trees and warm lake is great for it.

We stayed two nights here in July. We stayed in the spacious Lakeside Suite which had a great view of the lake and a nice terrace to sit on. There's even a huge tree in front of the suite with a resident eagle! The owners were very nice and helpful. We got great advice for planning a day trip. My only regret is that with all the running around we didn't really get a chance to sit and relax and enjoy the lake.
One thing you need to know is that all the rooms (especially ours which was the lowest) are located down a long stairway from the entry level. If you're not capable of climbing up and down the stairs (with your luggage) you may want to think twice about staying here. Also the house is located up against a cliff face and the space between the corner of the garage and the cliff face is very narrow. We had to turn our suitcase sideways to fit through!

We recently spent four days at this B&B and this was no doubt the best B&B ever in our own experience. Everything is fine. Starting
of course from the owners, Gordi and Janice. They are always ready to help you but never obtrusive. Breakfast time
was a very pleasant experience; there
are only few people at any time and this allows one to get to know them better. The suites are gorgeous. The location itself is marvelous, either if you just want to rest on the lake side or as a point of departure for the many things worth seeing around.
An extremely pleasant experience. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: the three suites are all excellent; no mistake possible

Gordie and Janice are gracious hosts. They provided directions and recommendations, made reservations, offered discounts, and shared a lot of local history and knowledge. After a day of sightseeing, it was so wonderful to return to the lake and relax on the dock, swim, or soak in the hot tub. We stayed in the Madrona suite, which was very comfy. We enjoyed the lovely views of the lake. Breakfast was delicious. Special needs were accommodated (for instance, one guest requested gluten-free meals). Gordie is a member of the Marine Search and Rescue team and shared some great stories about adventures at sea. We are so glad we decided to stay here for a few days during our vacation in BC!

I have lived in Nanaimo, so am familiar with what is here. Coming back from Alberta to visit family and friends, I wanted to try something new and broaden my horizons. What an amazing place. But best of all was the hospitality extended by my hosts. Gordon gave me an exclusive Sea Doo ride around the lake and even emailed me photos he took of me. Breakfast was great. Fresh fruit, great coffee, yogurt and eggs Benny. I will definitely be back and highly recommend. They have three suites available, great decks and hot tub and terrific access to the lake. Kayaks and other water activities available.

Staying at this B&B is like visiting wealthy relatives that are down to earth, that you actually get along with and their sole purpose is that you are comfortable, well fed and have a great time!
Everything about our stay was positive.....great location, amazing view, lovely room, enormous bathroom, super hot tub and beautiful lake to swim in.
Definitely a 5 star property at a very reasonable price.........Definitely coming back.........
Thanks to Gordie and Janice!
