My new husband and I decided to honeymoon in Nanaimo, and Maple's View happened to be the best deal we found on Priceline. It far and above exceeded our expectations. To begin with, the lady staying in the room we booked decided she wanted to stay longer, so we were bumped up to the Lancester suite. This suite is immaculate. It included a gorgeous bed and beautiful sitting area, a very modernly decorated bathroom, an extra bedroom, and a fireplace.
The bed was so comfortable I didn't even have to worry about the jet lag!

The B&B is in a great location- close to downtown, but far enough out as to not feel like you're in the city. In fact, there's a great peaceful little valley and pond about two minutes farther down the road that will make you feel like you've gone back in time. I would highly recommend taking a walk there in the early morning or late afternoon. The harbour is a ten minute drive, and it is only an hour to whale watching at Cowichan Bay, around an hour and a half to Victoria (if you want to experience a large city), and only three hours (on a gorgeous drive) or so to Tofino and Pacific Rim National Park on the west side of the island.

And the breakfast- oh the breakfast! We looked forward to going upstairs and having breakfast with the other couple staying every morning. Peter kept the conversation flowing and fed us almost more than we could eat! There was always a selection of cold cereals, strawberries, toast, tea, and coffee. On top of all of that, you ordered a main entree. I tried the omelette, the (huge) Englishman's breakfast, and the smoothie, but I couldn't tell you which was my favorite! Some days we didn't eat lunch because we were still so full from our hearty meal.

The accommodations and breakfast were fantastic, but the host is really what made this stay exceptional. Peter was so welcoming when we arrived, and he always seemed pleased to interact with us. He was full of good information about what to see and where to go, and he gives great directions! We would have missed one of my favorite sights (Englishman River Falls), if he hadn't suggested it. He definitely helped made our stay delightful and fun.

All in all, if you are looking at coming to Vancouver Island; I would very highly recommend staying at Maple's View. Trust me- you won't regret it.

We only got to stay one night, but had such a great experience.
You just feel at home right away, by the way you are welcomed and just the way the hosts are…
The room we stayed in was clean, fresh and beautifully decorated.
The bed was very comfortable (and I am picky… normally don't sleep very well in 'hotels'.)
The B&B is situated on a beautiful property where you find lots of wildlife.

Breakfast is delicious and the hosts' company is even better. Peter is very easy to talk to and gives you the feeling you have been friends for years.

While we were there we talked to another guest, who comes back regularly for work.

I would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast for any one.

This is an excellent place to stay when in Nanaimo! Peter and his wife have built a wonderful and friendly place to stay. The breakfast options are diverse and everything we ate was delicious. Peter makes good company while he prepares your breakfast and is a great source of tourist info. I would highly recommend staying here over pretty much anything else in Nanaimo.

The owner, Peter and his family and their dog Kate, were very lovely. The room was gorgeous with an open fire lit every night to come home too.
We were experiencing Halloween as a family with a 7 year old, we were able to use the yard to carve pumpkins and dress up in costumes with lots of makeup without any complaints or concerns about mess ( although we were crazy careful of course)
The privacy was perfect without feeling like we had to socialise although we loved our breakfast chats with Peter while he cooked us amazing breakfasts to order. yummiest breakfast ever!
Super comfy bed with lovely bedding and plenty of room to store our suitcases.
We loved our afternoon visits from Kate ( very much encouraged by us) the black lab. The grounds are beautiful and we had a stag, deer and baby deer watching us carve pumpkins.
Thanks again Peter, see you again soon
