Stopped in yesterday to get out of the scorching heat 30 degrees. Heard they had the best bars in town according to Nat Geographic. Had my 15 year old son celebrating a birthday and had candles but no lighter. Super friendly staff member reached into his apron without batting an eye and pulled out matches for us to use. We had Nanimo, bars and snack pizza -calzone style-and coffee. We have never had a better bar. Rich filling, awesome chocolate top and crunchy base. Just perfect.

What a perfect cafe! We were in need of a "to go" lunch before our ferry trip home to the main land. The gentleman with dark hair and glasses at the counter was terrific! Extremely friendly and even included complimentary macaroons with our sandwiches.
A recent review commented, "how can you pay this much for baguettes and french pastries"... They have obviously never attempted the tedious croissant. Worth every penny for this delicious and friendly cafe!

Casual lunch atmosphere, a cafe, not a restaurant. Good lunch items and bakery counter. Their baked goods sell out fast, so if you want baguettes or croissants, get there early!
