We stayed at this place in Jan/Feb and found the room to be ok. They used to be motel rooms that have been stratified into condos. However, we did not care for the management. The place is run by an older couple named Ed and Yvette. They do not give their last names. The male manager appeared to be drunk some of the time. We went in there once to ask where the garbage can was and he answered in a slurred voice that it was outside. He then came out and watched us put the garbage in the bin which we thought was weird. Another time we were coming back to our room and we thought we heard a mad dog on the patio upstairs growling but it turned out to be the manager walking around yelling at someone. Who we don't know. We think he was drunk again.

They also overcharged us. They get a commission every time someone rents a room/condo there. We were on a weekly rate and then we wanted to change to a monthly rate as we planned to stay longer and we wanted to get their monthly rate and pay the difference. They said no and one of them said it could not be done because we paid taxes on the weekly rate, which did not make sense. And another one of them said that the owner of the room/condo was already paid for the week. So? That did not make sense either. Then we were told that we either continue with a weekly rate (in which case they would get an extra $240) or that we start a monthly rate, in which case they would still get more funds from us, and we did not want to stay an extra 30 days.

So we won't be staying there again and we don't recommend it. We were happy to leave.

We are a busload of Jazz Fans who go to the Penticton Jazz Festival each September. We stay at the Shoreline because it is so accessible to everything we need, the lake, the festival venues, starting with the Sicamous right across the street, and a 10 minute walk to the Convention Centre. Its a short walk on Saturday mornings to the farmer's market and other downtown shops and restaurants. This motel has been updated several times, the busy staff keep the rooms clean, daily towel changes and clean up. Beds are comfy, coffee in the rooms as well as full kitchen if you are inclined to cook! The pool is clean and the lake is nearby. A laundry is available for guests and also barbeques. I love waking up here in the morning, going outside with my coffee and looking down the lake...so beautiful!

Room Tip: Rooms on the east (left) get the afternoon sun, rooms on the west the morning sun. Staff are very helpful with room location, if you need something, just ask.

The Shoreline Resort is a moderate condo with
wonderful owners and hard working staff. The rooms
have a full kitchen, comfortable beds with an adequate bathroom.
The decor is just fine for this gem across from the lake. You can walk
to town and enjoy all of the surrounding restaurants withour moving
your car. I have stayed twice and will return again and again.
