This hotel is the best for young families. We happened upon it by chance and I liked it so much I booked a second night too. The hotel wraps around with a courtyard in the middle. But instead of a courtyard it's all grass with an enclosed pool (impossible for little ones to get in unattended), frisbee golf, slides and swings, a BBQ, and hammocks. They have done a very nice job with the gardens and there is a beautiful giant weeping willow tree that is nice to sit under at night. They also show a kids movie outside at the sandbox at 7:30 each night, which we didn't get to take advantage of but it was a cool idea. I like this spot because it's a short walk to the beach and you can really just put your feet up and relax here all day if you want, unlike other hotels where it's just a room and you have to go find stuff to do all day. The breakfast was your usual hot breakfast: waffles, ham, eggs, and the usual fare of cereal and toast. The rooms are tidy but could use some updating. Our room (99) didn't seem to have air conditioning and we all woke up super sweaty. The shower rod fell down on me. But whatever, you don't come here to hang out in your room. The ambiance outside is worth it. We will be coming back here and booking a longer stay next time.

For a clean but older hotel which is centrally located to Skaha Lake we would recommend it. Though older it is maintained well. One problem could be for guests with a disability eating at the continental breakfast as it is upstairs and there is no elevator that we could see. Kids movies being offered is a nice option.

We have visited Penticton as a family for the past quarter century almost every summer. In all that time, we have NEVER stayed at the Best Western. This year, my wife and I (sans adult children) stayed for three days in the last week of July.

This is a mature property that has been refreshed, and from our experience, all to the good. The rooms are very well furnished and the amenities are first rate. The pool at the Best Western has been always excellent and the BBQ area and Frisbee golf and playground slides are very well received by visitors with younger families.

There used to be a full service restaurant here many years ago...like many properties, it is now a full continental breakfast self-service area. That being said, the outdoor deck is terrific and the weeping willows that frame the yard are some of the largest in the valley.

This is a well managed, pretty property and very nicely located hotel property. Someone has been taking good care here and invested money and time in making sure that guests return.

Highly recommended!

We stayed here for three nights as a family and were extremely pleased with this hotel. First time staying at this particular Best Western, but will not be our last. Rooms are clean, complimentary breakfast has everything you need during a reasonable time (7-10am). Best feature of the hotel is their inner courtyard/playground/BBQ/pool area. Very welcoming and family oriented. While we have older kids, we can see why younger kids gravitate to this area, and parents/friends make an evening of it with BBQ dinners, swimming and playing around. The only reason we would consider staying elsewhere (as an example, the Days Inn Penticton), would be because of that particular property's strategic location directly across from the start of the Penticton River Float Channel, which we regularly spend our time when in this area. However, this hotel is very close to Skaha Lake (end of the River Float Channel). For service, amenities, cleanliness and overall enjoyment of the hotel itself, we would definitely stay here again.

Dear Kaarlo R,

We would first like to thank you for your review with regards to your recent 3 night stay with us. We are pleased to know you were able to enjoy the many amenities we have to offer. While we may not be able to compete with location to the top of the River Channel, we are just a 7-10 minute walk from the bottom.

Thank you for your business and we look forward to seeing you during your next visit to Penticton!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was excellent in all categories except we found it to be quite pricey.....mind you, we had 4 adults sharing a room over a long weekend in August. Still the location and quality of the hotel overall, plus the fact that we were able to have breakie there each morning was worth it for this one time adventure.
