I hesitate posting this as this little gem may become less of a little secret in the Okanagan valley. We just finished our 3rd stay in less than a year. There is nothing fancy about this little gem, they do have an outdoor salted pool, but the place is spic and span and the service is bar none, the rates also are fantastic. We have met people every time, who have made this place a vacation destination for years. It is right across from the beach and couldn't be more convenient. Staff and customers are laid back, accommodating and friendly.

Room Tip: Ask for a room over looking the pool for a bonus view of the lake, or stay on the left side when you...

If you ever found some one working there you could have got an answer to a question or maybe had your room cleaned..... We only needed the room for sleeping but when we came back from out all day to arrive with surprise the room had not been made up, maybe the maid quit or something. We tried to call the front desk for hours and left messages with not a call back and no one to be found in the office. The next morning we wanted to get an early start but no one is. In the office till 9 so we were so put out we left the keys in the mail box and got out of town. On a positive note for people that may like this sort of thing (not that we did after a long day) the entertainment is quite interesting..... You can hear the neibors going at it through the walls on both sides like they were laying next to you....... Go back not a chance

Room Tip: Another hotel would be best bet

We stayed in the building at the end of the property overlooking the pool on the second floor. The room was clean and like other reviewers mentioned, it didn't have a blow dryer, but when we asked for one from one of the staff we were supplied with one immediately! It had the most comfortable bed and pillows we have ever slept on in a hotel. Carol was very pleasant and she made sure we were well looked after. She provided us with whatever we needed. Our room had large windows which supplied us with a terrific view of the lake. If you are looking for fancy housecoats and room service, this isn't the place, but if you want somewhere that's comfortable and close to EVERYTHING, and has a nice view...ask for room 223 at the Crown!

Room Tip: Room on the second floor with kitchen had great view of the lake.

We stayed here two years and were happy with room, ameneties and location. However, we were very disappointed with our stay in August 2012. There were several shortcomings. We had to ask for a replacement roll each time we finished a roll of toilet paper. There were no wine glasses, cutting board or decent knives. One positive was the friendly, personable service from the non-management staff. Considering that we were charged a premium rate,we certainly didn't receive premium value

DO NOT STAY HERE !!! i have never been more appauled and disgusted with the service i have received. I try to book a room for three of my friends and was told by a "mary" or "christine" as she likes to change her name that it is a family resort and that she would email me back and let me know if this is allowed? So anyways never heard from her so i booked somewhere else and to my suprise when i looked at my credit card statement they charged me a cancellation fee!!!! i never confirmed and there is something very disturbing about how they handle buisness. So i assume its a mistake and call to try and figure it out just to be hung up on several times and yelled at and be told that i am harrasing them??!?! what utterly disgusting service and i would advise you never to stay here as i have never been so insulted.
so short of the story is if you have a problem they will NOT HELP YOU in fact HANG UP ON YOU!!!

When we booked it said newly renovated. I could not access many pictures on the website but was happy with what I could see. There was not much info about the place but we wanted somewhere by the lake and thought it looked fine. When we did arrive the room barely had a garbage can. There was no ice bucket no ice machine no blow dryer? We flew into Penticton so were unable to bring alot of stuff. If the website would have been more descriptive we could have planned something else. The bath tub was rusted out around the plug which I thought was a bit dangerous if you have children in there? We did make the best of our vacation and thought the location was terrific in fact it was beautiful. But we were a little upset with having to buy items and then having to leave them behind when we left. We paid $169 per night and did not feel it was worth it.

Decided to try one of the waterfront motels and this one looked bright and cheerful and quite well kept from the exterior: bright yellow walls with white trim...
It was off season, in mid June, during the week, so there were only a handful of people staying here. I was offered a room across from the office, very tiny, room 201. Anyhow, turned in, and at 3am, the child in the room next door was crying at the top of his lungs and it literally felt like it was in my room. He cried for a good hour and I had a terrible sleep. On top of this, the room is behind a restaurant that has some generator or fridge humming throughout the night. It is very prominent when you are in the bathroom, but also late at night when the area is quiet, you hear it humming behind your bed - sounding like a truck motor running in an alley.
Anyhow, I would not return again due to the poor sound insulation. The room is adequate, the staff is friendly, the wi-fi is dodgy (works if you're by the dresser, but not on the bed)... I just wish the front desk clerk had the experience to know that if you only have 4 rooms rented for the night, perhaps it would be best to space people apart so they can't hear the toilet flush, or their bedroom conversation, or their child crying and them yelling at it to stop. That's why I have recommended the Carmi off the waterfront- cheaper rates, and thicker walls... both have pools by the way.

Room Tip: Ask to see the rooms first, then enter the bathroom, close the door and listen for any humming (feel...
