Description: SHOW NIGHTS 6pm till close! The Dream Café is a music venue and restaurant located on Colourful Front Street in Penticton, BC. The Dream was established in 2001 and holds over 100 shows every year. Everything from folk, blues, rock, jazz, world, spoken word and everything in between! A little something for everyone. Our menu is always changing & evolving but the essence of the Dream is always there. Our emphasis has and always will be to serve clean, healthy food with a variety of cultures represented on the menu that reflect the eclecticism that is The Dream Café. The Dream Café is a wonderful community that has evolved around music. People from many walks of life and cultures have joined us in the audience as well as on our stage. The beauty is the energy that happens in the room. Thank you all for your continued support!

We were invited to go to the Dream Cafe to hear a guitarist perform with his small band. We arrived to find a most eclectic atmosphere and a warm welcome from Pierre. Our table was close to the stage and we were able to enjoy the music with no interruptions.
Our meals were the absolute best we had here in Penticton. Three of us had the beef while I had the salmon Wellington. We all simply ate everything on our plates - absolutely delicious.
It was a wonderful evening.

I arrived with a group and we were crammed into a corner of the restaurant. The table I sat at blocked ingress/egress for half of our party. I told my friends if they had to use the washroom, to cross their legs.

Very cool décor; hippie central here! Lots of vegetarian options on the menu. I chose falafel and veggies; good fresh veggies but a little disappointing quantity-wise. Smallish for an appetizer.

We went with a group of friends, mainly because we had dietary restrictions to accommodate and the menu looked promising at first glance.

To start, we ordered the salad rolls as an appetizer to share, which were advertised as being 4 for roughly 9$. In actuality, they were two smallish salad rolls cut in half, but they were otherwise not too disappointing. I ordered the peanut satay baked tofu with roasted vegetables and roasted potatoes as my main course. After almost an hour, our food finally arrived. The presentation was disappointing and made the portions look even smaller than they were. The roasted vegetables were cold and under-cooked. The tofu looked like it had just been covered in sauce and put in the microwave. The peanut sauce tasted mostly like vinegar and not much like peanuts. No one at my table was happy with what they ordered, and a few of us felt a bit ill (stomach upset or migraines). I'm not sure why this place gets decent reviews online, expect that perhaps it's one of the few vegan friendly places in Penticton. This might have been a decent option in the early 2000s, but it's terrible now.

If you're looking for vegetarian friendly, the food at the Wild Scallion next door is a better choice. My partner and I ate there the next day and found the food fresher and tastier, and the food came out quickle and most dishes were also cheaper.

We have been here many times and always look forward to our next visit. Always great musicians and wide variety of music. Anyone who plays here comments on the intimacy and atmosphere of the Dream Cafe. It seats 100 and can be quite 'cozy'. Performers always stay to talk with people and sign autographs. Thanks to Pierre and Debra for their love of music and the staff for their friendliness and great service. The food and wine are very good, as well. If you're going to Penticton, check out the Dream Cafe and see who may be playing there.

Some words that come to mind when thinking of the Dream Cafe are: Special, unique, eclectic, musical, laughter, fun, great food and wine, ambiance........there is nothing better than experiencing the music, food, and laughter at The Dream Cafe on a hot summer evening......except for maybe having a casual lunch with a friend (more good food) while surrounded by the unique art pieces that have been gathered from travels around the world. A very special place!
