I usually stay here if I am passing through Prince George. Friendly staff, clean rooms. Pet friendly, smoking rooms. There is a family-style restaurant, gas station and small mall nearby. It is a good idea to get a reservation in advance during the summer months.

My husband and I were traveling with pets. We did not have a reservation, but were able to get a room late in the day. There was an $11.00 pet fee, which we felt was fair. The woman at the front desk was pleasant and helpful. The room and beds were clean. There was a coffee maker, a fridge, and a microwave in the room, which was nice. The beds were, however, fairly hard and uncomfortable. The major issue was the lights outside the door, which illuminated the room through the night, despite the room-darkening curtain. But worse, was the blazing sunlight which lit up the room, again despite the curtain, from 5am on. We were on the side with the odd-numbered rooms. We would stay again, but would request a room on the even-numbered side, away from the sun. The restaurant next door was good and convenient. Adequate stay for the reasonable price.

We have stayed here before & enjoy staying here with our big dog. They only charge $10.00 for the dog. Very reasonable total price. The room had 2 large beds with microwave, fridge & coffee maker. The place is not new, but the rooms are clean & comfy. The staff were efficient & friendly. It is just up the hill from downtown.

Nice place, very accomodating. Clean rooms, beds are comfy. Pillows are good. Coffee is good and they don't mind giving you extra coffee and towels. They wash the comforters when there are dogs in the rooms which is nice to know. I like my whole bed clean! We have stayed here on 4 seperate occasions now and will keep going back. We have two small dogs and they have special dog designated rooms. Our dogs are comfortable here, there is a nice meadow next to the Motel (on the other side of the hedge) to walk them in the morning. There is a restaurant attached, which is middle priced. There is also a little strip mall next door. It is close to Big Box shopping in Prince George if you are coming from up north to stock up/shop or eat at a nice restaurant with your hubby. We love this place - try to get a room back from the highway a bit but not right at the back; they have rigs and campers park in the back so it can be noisy when they come and go. Handicap rooms are available close to their own parking spots...

Room Tip: Request room near your desinated parking spot so you don't have to carry your luggage far.

Rooms are old and run down: ceiling is stained and looks to be caving in. Water faucet leaks all over the counter, bed is as hard as the floor and the pillows are like flapjacks. We woke up the next morning with sore necks and backs. The top bed sheet looks to be about 30 years old. I will never go back there unless there are some renovations done.

We checked in just after midnight after driving for 8 hours. We had no energy to call the front desk and try a 2nd room when we discovered that the "non smoking" room stunk like smoke. Not just a little bit - it was powerful. Further inspection showed the smell was from the blankets. Carpet was not clean - walking in socks or barefeet made that quite obvious. Bathroom was okay except the underside of the seat hadn't been cleaned. We had a few hours of restless sleep due to ambient noise from other rooms so decided to get a head start on a long day of driving so left at 5am before the office opened. When I emailed the manager a week later, the response was indignant, filled with denial, and an offer of a 15% discount on our next stay. That amounts to ten bucks. Really? Our next stay? Never again, and we strongly advise against anyone staying here. They may have the only motel on the highway west of PG but there are a lot of options just a couple miles east, and we've had great stays for the same money elsewhere in PG. Adios Bon Voyage.

Enjoy our new look, and the convenience of our location: Direct access to Hwy 16, still in a quiet residential area. There are two restaurants and a shopping area with laundromat, health food-store, cold beer and wine store, gas station with car and truck wash, convenience store and more - just at your doorstep. Motor-bikers traveling to or from Alaska may find our property handy, since we always (based on availability) will try to have them on the ground floor, and we are happy to provide rags for cleaning ... and can offer some spots where they machines can stay dry during bad weather. Cyclists may also find us a good stop-over, since we do offer overnight locked storage for the bicycles. You don't have to bring it into your room. The Bon Voyage Inn also features a spacious, well-lit parking lot, which is a good fit for bus groups, teams, school excursions and also big trucks. Winter plug-ins are, of course, available to our guests. The Bon Voyage Inn is only two minutes from Southridge Mall, one of Prince George's biggest shopping areas with stores like WalMart, Canadian Tire, Home Depot etc., and it is only ten minutes from UNBC, the University of Northern British Columbia.
