Great walking trails. Dogs welcome. Bordered by the Nechako and Fraser Rivers. Some view points. Shaded parking large enough for a few motorhomes. Near the Railway Museum.

“Water, Water Everywhere”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

We went strolling here on an early summer evening in Prince George. There are some nice trails next to the river, and the cottonwood trees rustle overhead in the breeze: we heard a beaver at work, even though we didn't see it. The only downside in May 2014 was that many of the trails were flooded, and thus half the park was inaccessible, but what we did see was very quiet and calm, in a surprising location just over the railway marshalling yards from downtown PG.

“A lovely walk in any season”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Yes, a lovely walk with the added pleasure of enjoying both the Nechako and Fraser Rivers. It can be a short stroll ending at the confluence of these two rivers or extended into Fort George Park or downtown Prince George. A great place to observe various ducks, eagles, and at times ospreys. The wildlife extends to bears on occasions, but rarely seen.

“Perfect little get away”
Reviewed 13 November 2013

Always a nice little treat to get out of the city for a nice nature walk. This is the most beautiful walk in the fall with all the colours and the river. the river is super low at this time of the year which makes it fun to be able to walk along the river bank.

“Relaxing walk along the river--great end to long day!”
Reviewed 18 September 2013

There's nothing to dislike about the Cottonwood Island Nature Park, and we saw that the locals know how great it is to take a stroll along the river. Although lots of people were out and about, we still felt we had a quiet and relaxing stroll. Highly recommended!
