Used this hotel based on a recomendation from the agent selling me a ferry ticket. Although the price was right, in this situation, I got what I paid for. This is a old, used hard facility. It smelled like someone was cooking in another room. The downtown location did nothing to make me feel comfortable.

My #1 concern is that a facilty be clean. In my opinion, the Aleeda did not meet that standard.

There must be better choices in Prince Rupert.

Great location and amazing value. If your looking for fancy and high class style, this is not the place. But Its clean and functional. When we were looking on a cold rainy day after camping for several days this place fit the bill! We got upgraded to a kitchette at no additional cost and at $55 the best deal in town!

The woman who checked us in deserves an award for the least welcoming of anywhere I have stayed in the world. After filling in the usual form I handed it back and asked if there was anything else needed. "I need payment!" was the terse reply. I received no greeting or thankyou or even something resembling a smile from this woman for the duration of our stay. The other staff were more pleasant. The room was fine and we had a kitchen to cook dinner. Breakfast was just muffins and coffee, but since we had to get to the ferry early we just took a couple of muffins with us and had something else on the ferry, so it was no drama. The location is convenient and quiet.

After a 15 hour trip in the Inside Passage ferry we arrived at Aleeda Motel. The "Irish" lady at the front desk was simply OUTSTANDING...she gave us some real and valuable advices regarding our trip, she was also nice and really wanted to help us. The motel has a good value for money proposition. The room was very clean and we had a nice quick breakfast. You must remember that is still a motel but within what we saw (from the outside) in Prince Rupert, we believe Aleeda is one of the best in town, for sure! To rest in a clean motel room with free parking and simple but good breakfast, don't hesitate.

We stayed here one night during a <12 hour stopover between ferries. This is an older, very simple and modest motel, but nice and clean with friendly hosts. Quick check-in process - less than 2 minutes. Sure, the carpet is old and worn, but it is vacuumed clean, then bedding is clean and the bathroom and kitchenette were spotless. Clean windows. No dust anywhere. Kitchenette is perfectly adequate for a short stay: Plates, bowls, cups, pot, utensils, toaster, coffee maker, cooktop, oven, refrigerator/freezer, table & chairs. Wash your own dishes or elect to pay a housekeeping fee. No elevator. Bring your own shampoo, mouthwash, etc. Bar soap is supplied. TV, desk, closet with luggage stand. No pillow-top mattress or luxury amenities here, but what do you expect for less than $70? (Much better value than the $200+ in Ketchikan for a room with moldy windows and a sticky TV remote!) Gerry offered wake-up call, was familiar with ferry schedules, and advised me on when to arrive for ferry departure. Muffins, croissants, scones, coffee/tea for numerous guests departing on early morning ferry. Would definitely stay here again between ferries. AAA discount.

We've stayed in the Aleeda before, and the fact that we returned shows that we'd found it satisfactory in the past. The rooms are of a good size, with a kitchenette, and they provide a decent continental breakfast. Unfortunately, on our last (and I mean last!) visit, we found ourselves sleeping on a bed so broken and worn out that we ended up putting the mattress on the floor, and surviving the night that way.

A hotel room is only as good as its beds, and my back tels me that the Aleeda needs an immediate upgrade if it wants to survive.

Stayed here after driving from Grande Prairie and prior to taking inside passage ferry next morning. Booked this motel after reading reviews on TA. Upon arrival husband was very negative, didn't even want to go in as the outside looks very old and dumpy. I said we would just go in and check. Price was great and rooms were HUGE and very clean. Yes the furnishings were older and the hallways were really old but the price, cleanliness and size of the rooms more than made up for this. The only real negative that I could see was that you have to be able to climb stairs as there are about 10 just to get to the lobby and then we were on the second floor which was another double set of stairs up. Thought we would have a great balcony to watch things from but turns out they were just for show.
Didn't take advange of coffee served in the morning as we made coffee in the room then stopped at Tim Horton's prior to going to the ferry in the morning.
