After being left stranded outside at 2 in the morning by the Totem Lodge Motel (the doors were locked and nobody was answering the phone), we had to phone all the hotels-motels in the Prince Rupert area. All were booked except the Aleeda Motel. Having read the reviews before we left for our trip, I was not too keen on going there and even considered sleeping in the car.
However, the lady on the phone was very nice to us. She gave us a room with a king bed (we were travelling with our 10 year old daughter). The hallway was really stinky, but the room was not. Actually, it was quite big and clean. Same for the bathroom. The rest of the motel looks old and dated, but our room was OK. The bed was comfortable too. However, as other reviewers mentioned, ensure that you have a room at the front. That's what we had because the lady knew we were travelling with a child and that it could be noisy.
Also, we were kind of worried when she asked us to park our car within range of the surveillance cameras, but we worried for nothing: the next morning, we discovered that we had left a window half open, there was stuff in the car and nothing was stolen. Overall, if you are on a budget, it is not a bad choice!More
