Above average facility - especially for its age. Looks like recent renovations, but good clean rooms. I stayed on the 4th floor and found the room to be quiet (extra charge for going higher). I was there during SeaFest which was certainly one of the busiest - and loudest days of the year. All was fine - once I got checked in. Why management would install a new reservation system during that week is beyond me - and beyond their staff's capability. Took quite a while to get checked in, but all's well that ends well.

They have a VERY nice breakfast that comes as part of the room price - makes for excellent value. There are quite a few restaurants within walking distance as well. Internet was included and they have a decent cable tv package which made for a very pleasant stay. I did not have a vehicle but parking looked limited. All in all, I would stay there again.

I prefer this hotel in Rupert because it is a concrete building which equals a good nights sleep! The rooms are not fancy but are comfortable. I find some rooms are more updated than others. The higher end hotels in Rupert are wood buildings and therefore are not QUIET!

And for Canadians...Tim Horton's is just across the road!!!

Room Tip: ask for an updated room...

Traveling for business has created certain 'Will Nots' when booking a hotel. For instance, I will not book a hotel with a bar attached to it. I will not book a hotel with a casino attached to it.

This time due to a last minute change in my itinerary, I went against my self mandated rules and booked a hotel with a bar attached. The parking lot seems to be shared with the bar and the entrance (which is the back entrance) is situated just close enough that you have to walk through the smokers haze.

The reception area has been renovated recently and looked appealing. Check-in was efficient and professional. The hallway decor (carpet and paint) on each floor is dated, as is the flooring in the room. The bed and furnishing are newer, however the most important thing is Everything was clean.

Having a city view room, overlooking the Tim Hortons (which seemed to be open quite late), made for a noisy night as the drunks from the bar stopped in before going home.

My biggest pet-peeve was that the rooms do not have wifi and the ether net cord wouldn't reach the desk, so any work had to be done standing up at the TV.

I can see that this hotel would appeal to some people because of the price point and the free continental breakfast but I would rather pay more and have the necessary tools to keep up-to-date during a business trip.

Room Tip: 5th floor or higher

I requested a queen room in the renovated upper floors and was very pleased with my room. It had a very comfy bed with quilts, a sofa, mini fridge and I believe a microwave. The room was very quiet, no view but certainly a very nice hotel for such a small town.

The bathrooms were less updated, older tile and shower head but luxurious towels.

Breakfast was the usual free continental with you make waffles. Nice warm breaks before heading out into the rain! The breakfast room staff was cranky and annoyed with my presence, but I don't pay that much attention to those type of people. Check in was friendly enough but I don't like having to do a huge charge to my card and then having it reversed, but I guess that's the way they do it.

Room Tip: Do request a newly renovated room

I have stayed at the hotel 6 times in the last year. It has been renovated during that time and is now far superior to when it was part of the Coast chain. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.A very full continental breakfast includes waffles which you can cover with whipped cream and strawberries. Very sinful but very good. The rooms have been given a facelift and contain flat screen tv and free internet.I haven't asked for room service and I don't know if there is a swimming pool

Room Tip: ask for 5th or 6th floor looking with a good view of the sea.
