“A Wonderful Stay !!!”
Reviewed 23 July 2010

We arrived early from our overnight ferry from Ketchikan. During the reservation process they advised us that if the room were ready, we could check in early and enjoy the breakfast.
Well, the room was ready, and we had breakfast. We had a King bed, harbor view that was magnificent, and the room was very large, with every amenity, and we had a great stay.
The service and staff were excellent, parking was simple, and the continental breakfast was very good.
Highly recommended and would stay again.

Were traveling through Prince Rupert to catch the early early early boat to Vancouver Island the next morning. Town itself looks, sorry to say, rundown and not very exciting. The same applies for all the hotels/motels we saw. Room was small but ok. Were woken up at night as "a Jeep" had its lights on in the parking lot and the staff decided to check with every guest who had registered a Jeep (we did register the license plate # on check-in, they could have known it wasn't ours). Breakfast area was on the small side, but at 5am that didn't bother me that much.

We're sorry that your sleep was disturbed and that your experience with our hotel was not as great as it could have been. We are selling sleep and our guests' comfort is our first priority. Please accept our apology. Hopefully you'll give our hotel and our friendly little city another chance at some point in the future.

A week on the road (or sea) was interupted by a few days stay at the Inn. Virginia was welcoming and put us up in ocean view rooms with beautiful linens, flat panel TV, well appointed seating areas and free wireless. Every morning, hot coffee, juice, muffins, toast or scones await you in the lobby lounge. Clean, warm, friendly and make you feel like family. I would be hard pressed to stay anywhere else when next in Prince Rupert. Thanks Virginia, for keeping us in good spirits during our stay.

Stayed at the Inn on the Harbour for five days during a business trip to Prince Rupert. This was a real gold nugget of a find in the north. Nice room fully updated with a stunning view of the most beautiful harbour in Canada. All staff were very friendly and helpful with the staff at the front desk all deserving of a gold star for their advice and help.
Hotel features a small but fully equipped breakfast lounge with fruit, yogurt ,muffins and breakfast, pastries all available at no extra charge.
Take it from a long time business traveller...it doesn't get better than this. 10 out of 10

Not a good place to stay. Our room had a distinct sewage odor that did not abate the 2 nights we spent there. Hotel clerk's comment was :Oh reallY', First night the room was cold as there was no heat. Others also complained and the next night the heat was on! We needed to stay 4 nights, but 2 was more than enough!
Website quoted mountain view rooms at $85 yet when I booked this room, was charged $105 plus taxes.
The location is good, and the "complimentary" breakfast adequate, but definitely there are better places in Prince Rupert to stay.

  • Liked — view of the harbour
  • Disliked — strong sewage stench in room

We had two nights here in a harbour view room. The view was great and we were able to enjoy it better with the in-room binoculars; a deer came and sat outside the room to enjoy the morning sunshine. The location is central. Breakfast ok - including yoghourts and fruit. Couldn't make a decent cup of tea with the coffee maker as couldn't get water hot enought.

Service friendly enough - but there is a big problem with the paper thin walls, including to the corridor where the cleaning staff start hoovering too early, and the ceilings where you can here every step of the person above.

My partner and I arrived off the BC ferry from Port Hardy. Our stay was a stopover to catch the ferry onto Juneau.

The first room we stayed in was small and was disapppointing for the price. We managed to acquire another larger room and this room was quite good. We had no real opportunity to appreciate the view that has been noted in other reviews.

I would be hesitant to recommend this inn but I would not suggest against it.

For eating, try Cowpuccinos and Smile's Seafood Cafe. Both were positive experiences but a fair walk from the inn.
