“Best burgers this side of the western hemisphere.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 January 2014

I am a burger connoisseur of sorts. I love cooking and I always think my burgers taste the best. I can honestly say that the Oystercatcher's burger rivals for my taste buds! From the amazing, juicy 100% Angus beef burger grilled to perfection to the fresh Brioche buns that have the perfect meat to bun ratio. I truly haven't enjoyed a gourmet burger like this in years. They have perfected it. I usually eat at home but when I do go out, I go here for the best burger not just on Salt Spring but far and wide! I would also HIGHLY recommend their fish burgers, num num num and good helping of their home made fries! You cannot go wrong with these burgers. Imagine all this while looking out in the harbor and it's beautiful ocean view. I would go back here again and again. Service was great, food was fantastic and you feel that it is money very well spent.

“Off season Great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 January 2014 via mobile

I've read the reviews on this restaurant & they will scare some off. Most are written in the busy summer months where this wharf side restaurant with outdoor patio is much in demand. In the winter months, with the patio too chilly, the kitchen & staff have no problem keeping up the quality. Two visits in the past few days, one for dinner, one for snacks in the lounge downstairs. Both great experiences; good food & attentive service. In fact my only complaint was too much food! The restaurant may miss the summer tourist hordes but this spot comes into its own off season.

“Good place for a beer and wine”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 December 2013

Lower bar offers inside and outside seating. Quiet after the summer rush. Felt like it was looking forward to just the locals coming back. Very busy in summer when population swells 10 times the normal. Good place to meet after saturday market in Gamges.

“Huge disappointment”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 September 2013

I wish I had read the reviews before trying this place. The best thing about the experience was sitting by the fire pit and listening to the guitarist. The service is rock-bottom. The first thing that happened was the person who wipped the crumbs from the previous diner onto our laps. Then there was the wait person spilling wine all over the table and glasses and didn't bother to wipe it up. Then there was the need to ask for cutlery to go along with the meal. The food sucked. Enough said?
