“Great beartour”
Reviewed 18 June 2011

Did a beartour with the whalecenter and it was great. We saw a dozen bear; male, female, and some pups! Skipper Adrian aloud enough time and positioned the boat perfectly to make good photo's from the bears.

“It could have been better”
Reviewed 28 September 2010

My wife and I went on a whale watching tour through The Whale Center as it was the cheapest whale tour we found through the internet. The staff were nice enough but you had to walk, in the heavy warm dry-suits they give you, from the office on Campbell st to the ocean a block and a half away. In emails I had with The Whale Center they told me because they used Boston Whaler boats and not zodiacs that the trip on the ocean would be less "bone crunching", well I can tell you that is no true, the boston whaler had no cover and when we went over a wave you could feel it in your abs and back(for the next two days). The traveling out and back seemed to take the most time with only about 20-25min spent on whale watching another 10mins spent watching a sea otter, and another 5mins looking at some seals on some rocks. The guide was nice enough. This is not something we would do again, at least in one of those boats.

“A stunning experience!”
Reviewed 10 September 2010

We highly recommend using this company to plan your Whale and Wildlife watching trip. We had fantastic views of Humpback and Grey Whales, Sea Otter, Steller's Sea Lions and amazing birds. The boat was modern and the guide, John Forde, was excellent - very knowledgeable!

“Best whale watching trip ever”
Reviewed 3 September 2010

We went out with Captain John in late July of this year and had an incredible time. John's knowledge of the animal life in the area was incredible and he clearly has a great love of the area.
When he found out that my husband and I were birders he took the time to look for water birds and found several rare species and explained their significance to the area.
We have been out on 2 other trips in Tofino with other companies (many years ago) and several trips out of Tadoussac PQ but this was by the far the best. Didn't want the day to end. Thanks so much Captain John for a memorable day; and it was my husband's birthday too!

“Two Absolutely Awesome Experiences with The Whale Centre”
Reviewed 5 August 2010

We considered ourselve fortunate to have chosen the Whale Centre for our tours of which we did two: Whale Watching & Bear Watching - both were absolutely marvelous and far exceeded our expectations. This was because our guides, John (who actually owns the business) and Adrien took exceptional care of us, explaining and teaching us a great deal about everything we saw - whales, bears and the wolves that we were priviledged to see on our Bear Watch, also the eagles, harbour seals, sea lions. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the guides definitely know their stuff. Two awesome experiences that we will never forget.
