We had a lovely ome bedroom unit that was beautifully furnished and appointed. We got it on a Travelzoo special. The unit was equipped with everything we needed plus more. The heated floors in the bathroom were a pleasant surprise. The beach is as stunning as only Tofino beaches can be. Although there was a planned power outage while we were there, we were told ahead of time. The staff was courteous and helpful. This is a fabulous quiet retreat that we would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Although it would probably be ideal to be closest to the beach, even the units cler to the office ar...

The Cox Bay Beach Resort is fantastic. It is nice to be in a 'condo' type situation with the amenities of a hotel. Very clean, comfortable and inviting. They have great last minute deals, which makes it a better value than neighboring choices. Cox Bay is stunning in the morning and evening; and when its sunny or cloudy. We were able to continue to use the amenities of the resort after we checked out and spent the day surfing. Really great.

My one night stay at this resort was so relaxing and comfortable! The condo was so nice and the kitchen so well equiped! We got a bigger room than we anticipated, and really enjoyed lounging in our robes on the deck. So close to the beach you can't really go wrong! The service was amazing and we felt so welcome and so taken care of. I would return in a heartbeat.

My wife and I were in Victoria for a week and decided to take two days to go see Tofino and Ucluelet and made a last minute reservation at Cox Bay Beach Resort. We are so glad we did. Not only was the Pacific Rim area a "must see", but this resort was very special too. Its architecture is beautiful and the rooms are well furnished and appointed. I wish I had a dollar for every time my wife said, "this place is so cute". Being right on Cox Bay was really nice for walking on the beach and hearing the waves at night. The beach is really popular for surfers. They have an outdoor hottub and an indoor sauna and exercise room. Although it would've been nice if there was a restaurant or store on the premises, there is a restaurant at the adjoining resort and Tofino is only 10 mins away. We will definitely stay here again if we can. If you wait until the last minute like we did, check out the great deals on Priceline.

We booked a fairly last minute trip to Tofino and while searching for accommodations came across this place after finding that some of the more well known resorts (to me) were full. As it turns out we were fortunate, as the place is quite lovely. The architecture is very "West Coast" with lots of wood details and a beautiful design. We were in a ground floor one bedroom near the beach end and enjoyed being able to sit on our patio and listen to the roar of the nearby ocean when we weren't out walking on the beach.

The decor is elegant and the suite was well stocked for a couple (If there are more people you could find yourself running the dishwasher a lot, or perhaps needing to bring extra disposable plates etc.)
I would have liked to have seen a larger coffee-maker though, the small versions often found in hotels are not sufficient for the coffee-loving types like us, so we would pour ourselves a coup and then have to start it brewing again.

Another small quibble was with the bathroom, the lighting as mentioned by other reviewers is really quite dim, perhaps the addition of a lit make-up mirror would be helpful. Also, the sinks, though a cool looking in design are not practical, as the faucet is far too close to the rim of the sink, making it difficult to wash your hands or rinse a toothbrush without almost hitting the bowl.

The bed was comfy but there was no King available when we booked (which is what we're used to) which would have made it even more comfy. I wish more hotels/resorts would automatically provide Kings in all rooms, but that may just be me.

I missed having the option of room-service, or an on-site restaurant but it isn't a total deal-breaker. I just wish there were more options for food around the immediate area. The place next-door required reservations and didn't serve breakfast to non-guests and there aren't that many real sit-down breakfast places even in town that aren't smaller in size, crazy busy and crowded.

All-in-all though, a nice place and a great location.

My wife and I moved to Victoria in October 2011 and before I started my new job we travelled to Tofino our first week on the island.

We found Cox Bay Resort on a Travel Zoo deal for about $100 a night. It was off season and very quiet, therefore, we got more than half price and a room upgrade.

The room was a ground floor, two bedroom, two bathroom cabin. It was an absolutely gorgeous suite that was fully furnished and stocked with towels, blankets, and kitchen supplies. We were especially impressed with the pillow to king size beds -soooo comfortable! The fire place was perfect for those rainy Tofino nights and made our stay quite cosy.

As with many resorts in Tofino, it is a good 10-15 drive from town. We actually went whale watching with Jamies Whaling Station and bought some fresh crab from one of the seafood shops in town. We also bought additional items at the Co-Op Grocery store which was very convenient. There was a full kitchenette in our suite and we cooked a crab dinner on our second night there. The kitchen was fully functional and had a gas stove -very good quality equipment.

The resort is fairly new and you can tell by the architecture, quality of finishing, and resort grounds. There is a large board walk that walks out directly to the beach. It was an amazing spot on Cox Beach and I hear it is one of the most beautiful beaches on the coast.

Overall, we had a great stay at Cox Bay -it was quiet, relaxing, and a great location in Tofino. The only reason we didn't give it five stars is that though it does take short term reservations, it had more of a time share/vacation property feel as there are no restaurants and no food/drinks on site for purchase -this may not be a negative to all.

Well done Cox Bay Resort -we will visit again!

Room Tip: Look for seasonal deals on rooms...

Best spot!! Away for a quick long weekend, we were just wanting a place near a good surf beach - we got so much more! The suites were beautiful, with lots of room and a great layout. The beach of course was amazing, the caves etc making for great sunset walks. Loved being able to open all the windows and sit out on our deck - stayed in a 1 bedroom on the lower level (#7) and had so much privacy even though all the suites faced the centre. Loved it!!
