Great service here - helped with every query we had re. dog care, freezer blocks, converter plug for electric hook up - always with a smile. When we booked we thought it was expensive but we wanted somewhere cleans & quiet & thats what reviews said. True to the reveiws it was, the grounds are beautiful, clean & quiet & having free firewood, cheap coffee & free showers, free DVDs balanced out the price. 1 min walk to the beach, biking trails to shops, cafes, beaches & into Tofino. Our site was little small.

Dear Ruth P.

Thanks for the great comments about our little piece of paradise. Our team is very dedicated and passionate about our resort and our guests experience while you are with us. We do our best to keep the resort in top shape all year round. We have 2 full time gardeners on staff that make this place wonderful with the care they put into our various gardens. New for the fall will be the addition of the Cove Culinary Corner garden. This will feature a large variety of fresh herbs, edible flowers and some fruit bushes so that our guests can help themselves to the bounty and add it to their vacation meals.

Again, thanks for the great comments and we hope to see you again next summer.

Sincerely
J.J. Belanger

This was out forth time camping at Crystal Cove. Had a great time at the beach. Nice campfire at night. Nice walking trail nearby. Surf lessons and rentals nearby. Very well kept grounds. Beach access is wonderful.

Will be back next year.

We stayed for a week in August 2013 in one of the RV sites, using a trailer we had rented. Having just moved on from Rathtrevor Campsite in Parksville, we found the Crystal Cove RV sites to be rather cramped and congested in comparison. The sites do have full hook-ups though, but cost a lot more than Rathtrevor also. However, fire wood is included.

The grounds at the resort are really nice and well groomed, plus there is a nice playground for the kids. The beach is right there too, and the shared bathrooms are nice and large, and regularly cleaned. We were never disturbed by noise at night. Tent camping is not allowed.

Can't comment on the cabins, as only walked past them on the way to the beach. They look nice from the outside.

Dear mrdadio

I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us here at Crystal Cove. As you mentioned our prices are higher than the government campsites such as Rathtrevor however we are an all inclusive resort with full hook-ups at each including complimentary firewood, hot showers, DVD rentals, wifi, morning coffee and much more. Our sites are smaller as most of our guests appreciate the thick foliage between our sites to ensure they get utmost privacy during their stay. We are looking at creating 2 to 4 large pull through sites this winter so we can accommodate the bigger rigs we now see coming to the resort.

Thanks for the comments and we hope to see you again soon.

You have ruined us for any other campground. Nothing compares to you. Your beautiful gardens, private RV sites, clean bathrooms, free firewood, and amazing staff. Beach is amazing! We've been visiting for 6 yrs and will continue to do so. We have yet to visit another campground that is even close to your standard. Thanks

We stayed in log cabin #17 and it was cosy, rustic and best of all, spotlessly clean!

Rather than a fireplace, there was a wood burning stove in the living room area - which was just fine plus the staff keep the wood bin on the front porch fully loaded plus there are 'Presto logs' inside for those that would rather start a fire the easy way.

Both bedrooms had the most comfy beds we've encountered while traveling - sheer bliss! And when extra guests joined us part way through our stay, the children had no difficulty sleeping on the pull-out futon in the living room.

It was possible to simply sit on the front porch and watch the tide come in and go out into the small 'lagoon' area just down from our cabin ... and reaching the beach itself was so easy, just a couple minutes walk away.

Free Starbucks coffee in the office for guests each morning ... very helpful staff ... and beauty all around us (both the water, the forest beside us plus the site's landscaping).

Easy to rent bikes (even the wonderful pink one with 'no gears' and a huge wicker basket on the front - grin) and a great playground for younger children, too.

The only 'complaint' I have isn't really a complaint at all as it's common nearly everywhere we stayed on this holiday ... the bathroom and lack of towel rods to hold wet towels if there is more than a couple people. While the staff are wonderfully quick to exchange towels and linens, it would still be nice to hang the wet towels as the gang gets out of the shower.

That aside, this is a lovely location with great staff!

Personal note: This resort is not handicapped assessible (the cabins aren't, nor is the actual office). It would be wonderful if a portable, folding ramp could be obtained from the office as each cabin has great parking right beside it and it would be so easy to have open access as the cabin interior was if the three steps up to it wasn't a deterent to the physically challenged.

When we first arrived on site, I was pleasantly surprised that the grounds were as beautiful and clean as the pictures seen on the web. Their welcome was outstanding and so was their help every time we asked for it. We enjoyed one of the biggest cabins with a hot tub. The inside was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I thought I was disappointed not to have a beachfront cabin(too large a party), but the two-minute walk to the beach made me forget about that. I appreciated that the resort was very close to a surf rental shop (live to surf), I was able to walk there to get some info before renting a surfboard the next day. The kids enjoyed the movies they could borrow, as they were exhausted from their days of beach activities. My overall experience lets me believe I would go back anytime!

We went on our honeymoon to Tofino and stayed in one of their beach front cabin13 for 2. While it was not as private as we would have liked (our fault - not theirs!) the amenities provided allowed us to retreat to the cabin and feel like we were the only ones around. The log cabin was extremely clean, had absolutely everything we needed to cook some fantastic meals (dishes, pots, pans, etc), had nice white linens and even had everything we needed to accommodate our dog! We had a fireplace with all the kindling and wood we needed, a fantastic jacuzzi tub and a bbq. They had a great selection of complimentary movies - which came in handy as it rained the whole time and an easy linen exchange service (they don't even have to come into the cabin!). The beach access was stunning as were the sunsets and was close to everything. We would definitely recommend this place.
