My sister & I spent 2 nights at the Maquinna in August 2014. Neither of us had stayed there before, and it was my first time in Tofino. We booked quite late for this time of year, and the Maquinna was one of the only ones available at an affordable price. We weren't quite sure what to expect, however we were pleased with it when we arrived. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean. Beds were comfortable - not great, but not bad. No fridge in the rooms which would have been nice, however there was a fridge available for guest use in the guest lounge. There was no screen on the window, which was a bit unsettling at night as we were on ground level but we had no choice but to have it open because of the heat. The location of the hotel was fantastic as it is right in the centre of town and a lot of the other places aren't. Overall, it was a great place to stay and we would definitely stay there again!

Why lazy this hotel has a nice location but it lacks some basic stuff you would expect for thus price. Like : one fridge in each room. Like a personal coffee machine. Why is there no breakfast? They hqve the accommodation but don't make the effort. I strolled one month is canada bc and alberta. Even in toplocations like banff and vancouver you find more basic luxe for a lesser price. And the wifi is crap . Overpriced.

Location of this hotel is good considering it's close proximity to water as well as the main street of this small town. The view from our room was amazing. However, there was no net in the window which let a fly in when we opened the window for some fresh air. Hence we had to keep the window closed. But Kevin provided us with a table fan on request. Parking is available in an open space which can become a problem as it is just a small open field without any parking stall marking, resulting in some people parking in a manner either wasting a lot of parking space or blocking access to the other section.

The Maquinna Lodge is a great place for your money. This resembles a hostel in that it has a large common area with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, sink and counter area for preparing meals. There are tables and chairs and this room overlooks the harbours. The rooms are comfortable and the hotel is extremely clean. It is an older hotel but great value for the cost.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a view of the harbour.

Stayed for two nights in August 2013, was a great place to stay to sleep and get well rested for surfing. This hotel is a good for what you are paying and is close to the water and in the heart of Tofino. The hotel itself is also quite dated. The parking is very limited. The parking lot is an uphill grassy area which was a bit odd.
