All friends who had visited Tofino suggested we visit the Wickaninnish Inn, so we came for brunch with our kids. Upon arrival, we were asked to sit on some couches while a table was set for us. The restaurant was 2/3 empty, but our family was seated at the back, away from the prime window seats, even though several window tables were empty. Given I knew that no reservations were accepted, I asked this we could be seated at the window. I was told yes, with a bit of attitude, and that we would have to wait for another table to b set up. I was surprised that given the restaurant was not busy, that our hostess would not have asked for a window table in the first place - this restaurant is famous for its panoramic views! Luckily, our server, a lovely local Tofino woman redeemed the experience, with her attentive and thoughtful service. The food was delicious, I had salmon eggs Benny and my husband had the lingcod - both were delicious. Portions aren't huge, so we also enjoyed dessert. If you order cheese, the soft cheese from Borgogne is divine, and all of the cheese accompaniments, including small edible flowers, are beautifully composed. It was an expensive brunch, but definitely worth it in the end.

From the moment you arrive and are greeted by the staff - and the jaw-dropping view - you know this is indeed a very special place. Our room (204) at The Point had a lovely view and was well appointed. The beachside crab feast was a great way to indulge our passion for seafood and get to know other guests. The walks on the beautiful beach were rejuvenating with bald eagles soaring above us as surfers rode the waves. What a grand place!

This place is amazing - location is perfect. Very comfortable.

The service could be improved upon, but overall did not disappoint.
Joseph at guest services was great! Very kind and helpful. So was David at The Driftwood Cafe.

A stunning hotel in magnificent location with excellent rooms and facilities and we have no quarrels with this aspect. On booking we were advised to reserve dinner in the Pointe Restaurant, which like the hotel has superb views, on going for dinner we were told that our table was at the back and side of the restaurant with no views and when we objected we were told we could stay in the lounge area of the bar but we had to sit at two tables. We were served with a glass of sparkling wine because of the celebratory nature of our stay, however things went downhill from there, we waited an hour and a half for our first course, in fact our friends were just finishing their main course when it arrived. The main course was also late and when I complained I was told that there would be a pleasant surprise in our room after the meal, there was a small platter of petit fours!! This was the most expensive meal we have ever had and it was spoilt by the service, with staff aimlessly wandering around. We first saw this hotel 15 years ago and vowed to visit it if we got the opportunity, it was as good as we imagined it would be but complexly ruined by the restaurant experience.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a view not obstructed by undergrowth.

This place is just breathtaking in every sense. The 3hour car journey we took from Nanaimo ferry didnt seem that long because the drive was so easy on the eye through beautiful mountains. Its spot is right on the beach so wonderful views from the bedrooms and restaurants. We were there for 5 nights which we felt was a good amount of time to explore Tofino and the area. My husband surfed every day and I made good use of the spa - which I have to say is currently the best I've ever been to in the world. The hot stone massage was to die for! The breakfasts and food in general was consistently of a high quality which was really good... And that applies to the whole of Tofino. We said its the best town for good food we've ever been to. (-along with the in house restaurant the pointe, a visit to Sobo and Shelter is well recommended)
The concierge and guest services were particularly great but can say all the staff there were highly professional without being stuffy which is a great attribute to have in a hotel. I only hope that one day we will be able to return :-)
