This resort was one of the most comfortable, welcoming places we have ever stayed in. We were there to celebrate an 80th birthday. We also have travelled extensively and stayed in many hotels and Inns over the years. From the initial phone call right up to our departure, the staff, without exception, were attentive, charming and more than helpful. The room was extremely comfortable and overlooked the ocean - The complimentary breakfast was delicious nutritious and varied from day to day. Dinner was excellent on all three evenings we ate there and two of the dining room staff,Tariq and Allan, went out of their way to make the actual birthday dinner a very special occasion. An added bonus to this wonderful comfortable resort is that it caters to all ages.
We would highly recommend it - Thank you thank you thank you Yours sincerely, Oonagh Berry Vancouver BC

Room Tip: Overlooking the ocean - It was very quiet

Thank you for your wonderful review, I am delighted that you had such a great time celebrating a special birthday.Thank you for your comments concerning our staff, they will all be thrilled. We got away to Long Beach Lodge for our 5th wedding Anniversary and I'm so glad we did! Our expectations were exceeded and we are very hard to please. Our room was beautiful with a perfect view, kudos to the housekeeping staff. The great room has the most talented kitchen and service staff, they took it to a level we never knew existed at Long Beach Lodge. Shawn and Chris paired our wines to our meal with perfection. We even met the chef de cuisine when he came out to wish us a Hqappy Anniversary. ..very nice! Special mention to the chef in charge of deserts ( malted milk creme brulee) & cheese board...wow!
Thank you Samantha and the ENTIRE team for making our special weekend one we won't ever forget!

We stayed in a deluxe beach front room in the lodge, Which was absolutely wonderfully comfortable. The large tub and quite time reading by the fireplace was wonderful. Overall the facility is a great location and layout. Unfortunately the dining situation was not the same. Every evening except the last, we experienced a convolution of service. These included delayed seating, moved to a different table after being once seated because someone determined our table had been committed to someone else. We experienced a mixture of cold to warm food and lastly had to eat one nights dinner with the light of our cell phones as the power went off and we were only afforded one candle. Apart from all this we still had a excellent time.

I am glad that you had an enjoyable visit. I will take up your concerns, at our managers meeting, concerning your experiences with food and beverage. Also moving you to a different table, was very odd. We can and will do better! Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it.

We stayed in Cottage 18 - clean, quiet, and comfortable! The staff welcomed us and was available to arrange a spa visit. The views from the Great Room were amazing. We were unable to ignore the pull of the ocean and spent much time walking the beach and grounds. Our cottage had warm fireplace that kept the chill from us after a dip in the hot tub.

Stretching the long weekend was the plan, so we decided to head to the Pacific Rim Park on Vancouver Island. The towns that bookend the park are Ucluelet to the south and Tofino to the north. There are lots of places to stay in these places but we chose Long Beach Lodge and Resort. It was a great choice. It has that ski hill flavor only instead of skiers you have some of the most bravest of surfers. Yes this is Canada's surfing Mecca. No I don't surf. The room was large and had a fair size bathroom with a nice large soaker tub for two. We had a great view of Cox Beach from our room and loved listening to the surf on the beach. The lounge was just a few doors down from our room and the bartenders were awesome (Davin & Chris). This place is a must for that getaway for that special weekend or weekday (for a more quieter trip maybe?) or storm watching. Drive down to Ucluelet and Amphtrite Lighthouse great spot for watching those big waves pulverizing the rocks. Just go already!!

I am delighted that you enjoyed your cottage visit. This week the cottages are closed for renovations, we are instaling new kitchen cabinets so that we can add dishwashes and new fridges. We will also be adding patio furnature, to most cottages, so that guests my dine outside in nice weather. I hope you will visit us again soon.

We had the pleasure of staying 2 nights in cabin 14 (quiet and one of the furthest cabins from the main lodge) at Long Beach Lodge the first weekend in February (BC Family Day Long Weekend). Our 10-year old daughter brought her best friend along and it was a huge success. The girls had their very own bedroom and bathroom upstairs, which was super cool for them (and us). We would like to see a few more channels available and also a DVD player on the upstairs TV would have been great too. My husband and I had our own room and bathroom downstairs, along with access to our private hot tub. The main building was only a 1 minute walk down the quiet drive in. The Great Room breakfast buffet was another big hit with the girls. Their only complaint was not enough hot croissants or the occasional person budding in front of them in line. Our server at dinner the first night was fantastic; our server the second night was not quite as good - we felt rushed. Access to the beach is a real bonus. The beach is superb for walking, beach combing, and sight-seeing. Overall we were pleased with our stay at Long Beach Lodge. We will be back again.

Room Tip: Cabin 14 is the furthest away from the main lodge. Nice and quiet.

Thank you or your review, I am dilighted that your family had a wonderful stay, it was great that your daughter could bring her friend. We often act on good suggestions from guests and we will take your idea and install DVD's in the upper cottge bedrooms. This next week we are closing the cottages and installing stainless steel dishwashers and refrigeraters. Also, we will be adding furniture to most of the patios, so cottage guests may dine outside. We will look forward to your next visit.
