Middle Beach Lodge based between woods and beach, overlooking the sea, is a place of wild romance. You can enjoy freshly baked cookies, tee, coffee or hot chocolate while sitting on a couch in the lobby with oceanview. Guess fireplace is also used as soon as temperatures are going to fall. View is awsome, you can watch the sunset from the terrace.
The only thing to be criticized are the small rooms. Two big suitcases don't leave many options to walk around any more. But who wants to spend time in his room if you are sourrounded by beautiful nature, can take a walk in pacific rim's trails or go bear- and/or whalewatching?
The lobby-cookie option with free WIFI made also up for the missing space in the room.

Room Tip: Go for the beach view!

I agree with a lot of the other reviewers, you can't deny the great location with fantastic views and the beach. We booked here for my birthday and requested a nice room with an ocean view. The room had a great view but it was tiny with no wardrobe just pegs on the wall to hang your clothes and two drawers and could have been cleaner. It was very dated with the sink in the room itself as there was no room for this in the small bathroom. Once we had got both our suitcases in the room there was very little space to put much else, we ended up not unpacking and living out of the suitcase as it was easier. I asked if we could be moved to a bigger room but the only option was a two bed deluxe cabin at an extra 150 dollars a night! I was very disappointed as we had been looking forward to this trip for ages and wanted it to be special for my birthday.

Room Tip: The queen ocean view rooms on the second floor are very small with no wardrobe space

We spent three nights here in July, in a 2 bedroomed lodge overlooking the ocean through copious pine trees. Nice wooden, rustic feel to the lodge with verandah. We had our own kitchen, and facilities in general of the little cabin were fine, but not fantastic. There was also a wood burning stove complete with log, which we used due to the cold sea-fog every day we were there.
The main lodge and the was a colonial lodge with understated luxury, with settees, armchairs and books, with nice decking to admire the view.
We only ate breakfasts here, as we bought fantastic halibut fresh from the Tofino fish shop and cooked ourselves. Breakfasts were a bit samey and nothing fantastic - peanut butter on bagels was a staple as were sticky buns - if you could get one. If you hit breakfast at peak hours, it can seem overcrowded and stuffy.
There were nice beach walks directly from the hotel.
Tofino has a nice feel with lots of whale-watching, nice art gallery, great walks in the national park forest and long beach. We enjoyed our stay.
Only negatives were some of the staff on reception were not helpful and lacked local knowledge

Beautiful location amongst forty acres of woods with a cozy lodge and lots of comfortable seating. Ample and good breakfast with fresh baked muffins. Couldn't keep my husband away from the fresh cookies every night. Rooms were a bit small but nice. Do get the ground floor with balcony facing the ocean in the middle beach lodge. Only odd item was they didn't have any ice and we had to drive to buy some. No closets only hooks...great access to a private beach.

This is the most beautiful place I have ever been. We arrived and had booked for two nights, but after 10 minutes walking down the lounge (living room) of the hotel we decided to extend for another night. The setting is incredible, breakfast is very good. They have a restaurant with buffet dinner, but we didn't go there since we wanted to discover Tofino. They were incredibly nice, especially Anna the German girl at the desk. She gave us the most beautiful lodge, the number 48 with hot tub gazing the stars, view on the ocean and cozy woody feeling. She helped us also reserving the activities in Tofino. Thank you so much!

We stayed in one of the sixplex suite when we visited a friend in Tofino. The suite was very well equipped, full kitchen, comfortable lounging area, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and a beautiful deck on the ocean. Although the weather was great, we appreciated the raincoats and gum boots at our disposal in the suite for rainy days. The main lodge is very comfortable and offers great views on the beach and ocean.
The fact is - this is a lodge. It is not meant to be a high end hotel with 24hr room service and full restaurant but with such a nice kitchen, it is great to be able to eat in and enjoy some of the restaurants in town for dinner.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. What a fantastic area to walk on the beaches and enjoy the outdoors!

Room Tip: Ocean view - well worth the money

We stayed in a duplex cabin this past weekend. The cabin itself was simple, well equipped, no frills, and had a nice, rustic feel to it. A great alternative if you're not looking for a "yuppy" sort of place...not that there's anything wrong with some of the higher end places.

We found the meal service to be quite rigid though. Breakfast is only served from 8-10 am and not a minute later. The staff actually comes around the dining room and give a 5 minute warning before they take the buffet away. Dinners must be reserved by 4 pm and is only served at 7 pm or slightly after. After all, this is a vacation resort and it would be nice to feel a bit more relaxed and not on a timed schedule. The breakfast itself could also be better, and include more than continental breakfast. We ended up foregoing the complimentary breakfast after the first day there.

Bottom line: great cabins. Meal service could be improved.
