Owner description: Considered by many to be one of the best boardwalk hikes around, you will be immersed in the natural serenity of the temperate rainforest. You can take the easy stairs to the beach, where you can gaze at the gentle waves crashing in. During low tide, an inviting passage presents itself so you can make your way to a small island where you may find bald eagles soaring above. Schooners Cove is nothing less than invigorating and rejuvinating. Truly a picturesque adventure.

“The Best, Most Varied Views in the Park”
Reviewed 22 September 2013

I couldn't believe that forest rangers build the fantastic boardwalks and staircases on hands and knees, after hauling the precut wood in on their backs. The rainforest is at its best on this walk and the beach is glorious, with multiple tidepools, at low tide. A must-see.

“Best of both worlds”
Reviewed 18 September 2013

If you want the best of the forest and the beach this is your trail. It should take you about an hour each way and try and time it with a low tide.

“Nice boardwalk trail”

Beautiful short boardwalk trail and an amazing sunset on the beach. No one else on the beach with us; very peaceful and lovely.

“Favorite Hike in Pac Rim Park”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

This is a hike that is about both the journey and destination. The journey is a beautiful, boardwalked stroll through rain forest that beats, in my opinion, the scenery on both trails marked Rain Forest. The hike ends at a breathtaking, surprisingly uncrowded coved beach. If you like to shoot landscapes, don't forget your tripod, like I did. I also did not visit at either sunrise or low tide and can easily imagine this being even better at both. If you make one stop in the park, this should be it. But don't forget to buy a pass; the ticket-writers always are out in force!

“Best hike”
Reviewed 30 August 2013

Love his place especially if you go by 8:00 am and find yourself alone. Low tide gets you up close and personal with starfish, sea urchins, and mussel beds. The board walk in is 1km long with lots of stairs and can be slippery. Anyone with a mobility issue will find this a challenge or impossible.
