The rooms were brand new and super clean. Beata and Micheal were the nicest and most friendly caretakers I've ever met while vacationing around Canada!

We found this Guest House online and are so glad we did. We had stayed in a hotel room at the Tin Wis Best Western across the highway, but we are now travelling with a 2+ year old and the Cobble Wood was perfect for us. We rented the Golden Dawn Suite for three nights and were quite comfortable. It is situated in the front of the House above the attached garage, so there was no issues with our daughter making noise running across the floor or if she had trouble sleeping and was up in the night (which she was one night). The website is very representative of the actual suite, it is a simple, clean one bedroom with full kitchen and dining area, full bath and nice sized bedroom with a big walk-in closet. The owner is a contractor, and the finishing/construction of the suite shows it. Everything is solid, well constructed and nicely finished, yet simple and clean.
The Guesthouse is a 10 minute (leisurely) walk from MacKenzie beach, which is right across the highway (only a 2 lane road, not super busy), and close to the Wildside Grill, where the dining "room" is right outside, hence the name "Wildside". We had excellent fish and chips, Salmon burger and chicken and enjoyed it out in the setting sun. The beer was great too ;) Also in the little shopping area is a grocery store, surf shop, hair salon and coffee shop.
It was very comfortable for our family and we will definitly be back next time we are travelling to Tofino!

We enjoyed our stay at the Cobble Wood Wood Guesthouse. This is a quiet location a bit outside the village of Tofino. We occupied the two suites on the top floor, and both were spacious, immaculately clean and had all the comforts we needed. The hosts provide a little booklet with great tips for your stay in Tofino: we followed their recommendation and had a fabulous dinner at SOBO's (located nearby at the botanical gardens) and great fish&chips at the Fin.
The suites themselves looked better than on the photos on the website (a rare exception) and it is obvious that the hosts put a great deal of effort into decorating the place. We also appreciated the modern conveniences (full kitchen, telephone, wireless Internet, TV/DVD/VCR). The place is perfect for someone who likes privacy. Cobble Wood seems to be one of those B&Bs where they put a great deal
of effort into making sure that their guests are comfortable, but they prefer to do it in the background, without intruding on vacationers (we never met the hosts but the young lady they hired to look after the place seemed nice and competent). We also thought that their pre-season rates were very affordable. There are a couple of downsides: since we were outside the village, we ended up driving more. A month later we stayed at Chelsea's which was a more convenient, walking distance from local pubs, stores and restaurants (but it had other shortcomings, see my review of Chelsea's B&B for more). If you insist on ocean or harbour view rooms, Cobble Wood is not the place for you. Our schedule was so busy we would not have had time to sip wine and admire the view in the evening anyway, so we did not mind, plus the location is very pretty even w/o ocean view. Cobble Wood does not serve breakfast, but they do provide everything (coffee, jam etc.) you need to make a simple breakfast for the whole family. A last tip: watch your head if you are staying on the upper floor, part of the ceiling is low (follows roof line).
