Much of the fresh seafood is fished from the very waters overlooked by The Pointe, and a longstanding focus on locally sourced, high quality ingredients is evident. Dinner is offered on a seasonal à la carte menu, but for the best of the best, try Executive Chef Warren Barr's weekly tasting menu; Daily brunch is a true treat. Out of the ordinary desserts reflect an innovative Pastry program where most everything - from bread to butter to scrumptious chocolate croissants are housemade. An extensive wine list, recognized yearly by Wine Spectator magazine, showcases BC’s finest selections with a broad range of international bottlings. Over 100 Scotch Whiskies and a creative cocktail menu can be savoured in the comfortable On the Rocks Lounge. “A Splurge, Expensive, Very Classy, and Worth It”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

Pretend it's your birthday or anniversary, and just go to the Wickaninnish Inn a few miles outside Tofino and and enjoy an incredible meal, incredible service, incredible view. Count on $100 per person (June 2014), more with wines (and what a wine list!) or single malt scotch whisky (and what a whisky list, including a - no kidding - $1,200 an ounce 40 year Bowmore that they'll let you smell if you ask politely). The kitchen is outstanding. The waitstaff is knowledgeable about the food and the wines, the service is impeccable. You don't have to get all dressed up, but you'll want to look like you cleaned up after a day at the beach. And the beach is right outside the dining room window. We can't afford to eat here very often, but as a birthday treat this was a high point of the Pacific Rim area week.

“Anniversary dinner Disappoinment”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 via mobile

I can't quite put my finger on it. The server seemed nice yet not overwhelmingly so. As all the employees here seem to be from other parts of the world, perhaps it's a cultural issue.

As we had notified the hotel & restaurant that we were celebrating our 30th, I would have expected a better table. The table location was only OK & the anniversary never acknowledged.

We both ordered the tasting menu along with their parings (not cheap) and while the presentation was lovely, the meal not memorable. Sorry, we did not leave the dining room (which is lovely) on cloud 9. Perhaps our expectations were just too high.

Dear Lcquinn,
Many thanks for providing us with feedback of your recent stay at our Inn and your dining experience at The Pointe Restaurant via Trip Advisor.
While we are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us and particularly appreciated the various amenities available throughout our Inn, we were most disappointed to learn that your Anniversary celebration dinner at The Pointe Restaurant did not meet your expectations. It is our goal to provide each and every guest with a culinary and service experience that meets and hopefully exceeds their expectations and we apologize that we did not meet this goal in your case.
In regard to your table location, it is our standard to advise guests during the reservation process that window tables cannot be guaranteed and that while we do agree the 9 of our 21 tables immediately adjacent to the windows do afford the best view, we feel that as The Pointe Restaurant does provide our guests with a 240˚ view of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding islands, tables not right at the window also do offer a spectacular view.
As our culinary team prides itself on providing world class cuisine utilizing the freshest, locally sourced food products available, it was disappointing to read that the quality of the Tasting Menu was not to your expectations. We can assure you that we will be passing along your comments directly to our Executive Chef and our entire culinary team.
While we do have a number of international team members throughout our Inn, we are proudly a Canadian company and always recruit regionally first and foremost. When we cannot fill positions regionally, we do look to augment our Canadian staff with International staff primarily using our fellow Relais & Chateau property contacts and International hospitality schools. As our guests are travelers from all over the world, we do have the added benefit of possibly having someone from their home country on staff to greet them in their native language and welcome them in true west coast style.
As we believe feedback from you, our guest, provides us with the insight needed to continually improve our products and services, a member of our senior management team will be in contact with you to personally discuss your concerns.
Again, we are truly sorry that The Pointe Restaurant did not meet your expectations and sincerely hope that you will allow us the opportunity to understand and learn from your experience.

“Feast for the Senses”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

This is THE place to go for fine dining on the West coast of the island. The modern west coast menu is always changing with seasons and always offers amazing fresh and uniquely creative meals that roll over your taste buds like the waves of the Pacific that you can watch while you eat. The only thing that is better than the food is the view of Chesterman Beach which is absolutely spectacular. I dine here every time I visit Tofino, and so should you.

“Excellent fresh menu celebrating spring”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

We live in town and The Pointe has been a go to for special occasions over the years, or when we just want to treat ourselves – and we have rarely been disappointed. We enjoyed a dinner there recently that I think was one of the best meals we have ever had there. Maybe it was the wonderful offerings of the spring season, but they certainly knew how to highlight and present them is the best way. We enjoyed the spring tasting menu with the wine parings, and each course was vibrant, properly seasoned and portioned. Peas, asparagus, rhubarb made appearances in a variety of preparations and were either the star or the perfect accompaniment to halibut (oh that sauce!), spot prawns and lamb to name a few. Yes we are “locals”, and the staff are familiar yet not intrusive. It was the perfect meal in that you left satisfied, but still long for one more delicious bite.

“Great atmosphere for a special night”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

We went to dinner to celebrate my birthday. The menu was quite limited so unless there was a kid's menu that we weren't told about, I'd recommend leaving the kids at home. For the grown ups, the food was amazing. My husband had the beef tenderloin and I had the salmon. Both were prepared perfectly. We would agree with other reviewers who said the portions were on the smaller side, but no one left feeling hungry. The service was amazing. Yes, they bring around the bread rather than leaving a basket on the table, but we liked the personalized attention in doing that. We weren't shy about asking for seconds and no one made us feel guilty for doing so plus the waiter took a bit of time to explain what each of the breads were. It wouldn't have been as personal if the basket had been left on the table. And there's not much I can say about the view or the setting....spectacular. Overall a great evening.
