It is a pleasant and homey space, very comfy beds, great for three of us. Especially loved the sitting room.
Located in a quiet, walkable neighborhood with adequate on-street parking and easy access to city buses. Nice clean apartment, and a friendly, flexible, & responsive owner. 10 minute walk to a variety of good restaurants and about 6 blocks to a good grocery store. Recommend bringing slippers if possible---the floor is cold. Kitchen was nicely remodeled and most cooking supplies were present (we missed only a spatula). Comfortable beds.
The owner seemed nice. I only saw her once at the start. The suite is old but spacious with some updates. Lots of windows with screens and locks. One bedroom only has a dresser the other only a portable closet...not a big deal to us:) The sheets and towels were clean. Not much for pots and pans and what was there were really old and unusable, no strainer for spaghetti I made:(
There was salt and pepper and other food stuffs. The fridge/freezer has some food in them. The bathroom has shampoo/conditioner and others toiletries that are free to use:)
No T.V but there's free wifi. No AC, but because its a basement it was ok. Lots of free parking outside. A bonus for Vancouver!
My only complaint is that the bathroom and kitchen could've been cleaner. The shower stall was a little dirty. The batthroom had a strong urine smell.
The recycling blue box was filthy. The stove needs a good scrubbing. There was an old dirty sponge for the dishes. And some old stinky dish cloths. We went out and purchased a new sponge and cloths.
Overall it was ok. The price is right. The location is pretty good.
Stayed 5 nights with wife & two grown grandkids in late June-early July. This is a spacious basement apartment, 2 bedrooms, one small bathroom with shower. Bedrooms good size, as were livingroom & kitchen. Furniture, especially in livingroom, was dated & stained; entire unit could have used a more thorough cleaning; laundry room & foyer quite cluttered. Not a good unit for 6-footers, as typical low basement ceiling. Location excellent, 10-minute walk to shops & restaurants, quiet residential neighborhood, free street parking, 15-min drive to downtown. Unobtrusive hostess.
As described. Plenty of space and reasonably light for ground floor. Comfortable tho a bit tired. It could do with more kitchen equipment e.g. A frying pan. While we were there work commenced at 8 am on a garden conversion, their tools were in the entrance space of the apartment and the door was left open. Easy access to shops and restaurants. Only a short trip to downtown.
Myriam was very informative and cordial prior to our arrival, and she was kind enough to allow us to leave our luggage when we arrived on an early morning cruise. The apartment, which is located on the first floor, is comfortably furnished, even to the point of some lovely hand and body lotions in the bath. Although we did not have time to do any cooking,we enjoyed having breakfast in the large kitchen/dining area (there is a market a few blocks away). The apartment is just a block from the bus stop for #7, which provides access to downtown Vancouver and connects with the Sky Train (commuter rail). The neighborhood is lovely and quiet, and we felt safe there. And, as others have mentioned, Myriam has provided suggestions of restaurants in the area, along with brochures about lots of sightseeing possibilities. The apartment would not be wheelchair accessible, and there are slight irregularities in the flooring between rooms, which might be difficult for persons with major disabiltiies. Otherwise, it is a wonderful location for vacationers in Vancouver.
